It's a higher model number its a samsung smartphone, chances are its the gs3. Since we don't want the 9300 to be the gs3, the 9800 indicates its a newer and better phone? At least that's my train of taught on this. Also, since it just made it through the certification it gives it more credence that it is the gs3.

I heard the GT-9300 was the S3 and the 9800 was a tablet. Doubtful though since all the tablets have vastly different model numbers.

It's "Smartphone" on the certification document.

It doesn't, but it did at one point, as you can see from the screen shot here Samsung I9800 just got Wi-Fi certification - wait, what?! - GSMArena Blog

At some point, certificate number WFA14221 changed from the GT-I9800 to the GT-S6352. Methinks someone made a mistake, and I would bet Samsung wasn't too happy about it.
