My Galaxy tab 2 won't turn on no matter what I do. I've had it plugged in to a wall charger, a car charger, and my computer and the screen just stays black. I've held down every button for 30 seconds, still nothing. Help please.

Plug in the charger. Make sure you get an indication that it's charging. (It might take as much as 30 seconds to a minute before you see it.) Then let it charge for 24 hours.

If you don't get a charge indication, check the wall outlet (plug in a lamp - if it doesn't light, the outlet is bad or turned off), the charger (use the charger for another phone) or the cord (if your charger has a separate cord). If could also be a loose microUSB connector. If you've ever had to wiggle the plug where it connects to the tab to get it to charge, bring the tab into a repair shop. (The wiggling burns the cable the connector is connected to and the whole assembly has to be replaced. It's not that expensive, but the labor to take the tab apart and put it back together is.)

If you get a charge indication, but the tab doesn't hold a charge (anywhere from it turns on, then dies, to it turns on and runs for a while, but not nearly as long as it should), the battery is probably gone. The tab is almost 3 years old (since the release date - I don't know when it was first bought), and if you care for the battery the way most people do - discharging it down to 20% or less all the time - it should have died a while ago. (Charge at the 30%-60% point for longest battery life.) The battery is around $50 (plus any profit the shop wants). The labor is about the same as for replacing the charging port - not cheap if you want good work.
