the only way this looks legit is if you have Launcher Pro, but stock or any others will work.
1- Download this app https://market.android.com/details?id=com.katecca.screenofflock

2- This is not a widget

3- Open the app (config screen off and lock) check off the "screen off animation"

4- "Screen off animation" choose Old TV Style

5- hit back to save

6- put the app shortcut (screen off and lock) on home screen

enjoy-

for launcherpro users read on...

1- do above steps 1-5

2- on the bottom dock push and hold the app drawer and choose "swipe gesture action"

3- choose launch application...

4- choose "screen off and lock"

5- now swipe on the app drawer icon and enjoy...

given the slow update cycle moto appears to have, any guesses as to when we may see gingerbread for the droidx?

I'm thinking july 2011 (I'm serious), but I'm also wondering if they'll update it at all, as moto will have a newer better phone at that point.

We'll see the update roughly a year after the last update for the X was pushed through, at least in my opinion.

I'll have a new 4g Motorola phone though long before it hits the system. O
