Hi,
Thank you all for your work so far in these forums ? it?s impressive. I searched for some answers but was unable to determine the answer to my specific situation below, though did find some related posts. I will give a brief background to my flashing history:
1. Had stock Eclair, then rooted.
2. ODIN?d the de-bloated EB01 froyo build with full wipe. i) Noted some reduction in battery life at this point but nothing worth complaining much about, and ii) Also, I believe this is when the phone stopped being able to vibrate / provide haptic feedback altogether (either here or in next step #3, I can?t remember exactly since I did them so close to each other).
3. ODIN?d SC 2.9.2 voodoo with no wipe (my mistake). Noted worse battery performance, still no vibrate.
4. CWM'd CommRom with factory reset, dalvik wipe, etc. Equally bad - if not worse - battery performance, still no vibrate.
Currently, my phone stats are as follows:
Hardware Revision: I500.04
Model: SCH-I500
Firmware: 2.2.1
Baseband: S:i500.04 V.EB01
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
Build: SCH-I500 ED01
I fully understand there are many reasons why battery life can vary. I have wiped bstats (via terminal emulator) at each step of the way with no luck.
However, I read there can be many issues caused by radio / build mismatch. Is this possibly a cause here for the two issues (battery/vibrate) noted above? I believe the info above suggests a mismatch.
If so, is the best way to address that issue by applying the EC01 radio via ODIN found here: xda-developers - View Single Post - {List}[4.26.11] *VZW* CDMA i500 Roms/Kernels/Radios/Mods .
Alternatively, is it best to just start completely fresh, ie. ODIN the ED01 Debloated/Deodxed Froyo from Landshark (ED01DB_DO_SHARK.tar ? the one that does the full wipe)? Presumably this would address the battery/vibrate issue since it has EC01 radio which will not cause mismatch? I don't mind clearing out completely if this is the "easy" and foolproof method. Also I assume if I do this route, being on voodoo CommRom shouldn't make a difference.
Thank you for your time, and if I have missed in my forum search the solution to my problem, then please kindly ignore this post.
