[Guide] How to Root the Samsung Galaxy S5

I've got the G900F on Three (Ireland) network. I don't think they do anything to safeguard against rooting. Had zero problems a couple of years ago with same carrier, S3, some earlier version of odin, custom recovery, various custom rom experiments etc. I'm just slightly nervy as the one time it could go wrong could go wrong might happen to me. Is there any way that Odin / Download Mode on the phone can be messed up somehow or is that in protected storage? As long as that's operational I know it's never truly bricked.

No, the Stagefright patch makes no difference. Rooting as normal for Sprint users...

I have an S5 that I would like to root, but it's Verizon. Tried KingoRoot but it could not do it. Here is my info:

As a side note, I can't get my computer to show my phone when I plug it in. Fairly certain it's not my antivirus but not 100%. I've been trying to get photos off of it, but it's not working.
