H96 Max X3 display on off

[Android Central Question]

The time display goes off and on at seemingly random intervals when the box is off in sleep mode.

Plus a light flashes on the top of the box.

Since the box is in a bedroom these flashing lights are incredibly annoying.

Is there a way to fix this?

Are you talking about a display on the box itself, or the screen it's connected to?

Sorry for not mentioning that. It is the LED display on the front of the box

It can be difficult to troubleshoot these no-name Android TV boxes, since the manufacturer provides little to no support. Did the device come with a manual?

My guess is that if the light flashes only when the device is asleep, it's a standby indicator, and for these kinds of devices, you probably can't turn that off.

Bummer. I thought I had bought a name box. Oh well. Now I need to look for a similar box

I would drape a small piece of cloth such as a wash cloth or something if the lights bother you when you go to sleep. It sounds like there's a loose wire inside for the display.
