Ouch, that's unfortunate.:'( That looks like more than just a shatter -- it looks like the whole central part of the glass is gone. Maybe if you had the phone in your pocket or a bag, something hard crunched into it?

no i drive truck and have my phone in a otter box I read a article about this happening the camera works just fine it's gonna cost about 40 dollars to get it fixed

Although the Otterbox is quite good at protecting the phone as a whole, it can't completely protect the camera glass, in order to preserve image quality. As far as phone repairs goes, $40 sounds pretty good -- just make sure the shop has a good reputation for quality. Check reviews on Yelp or other review sites.

I agree b.diddy about the otter box.... the weird part is that there is no impact damage around the lens and if I did impact it the camera wouldn't work at all the repair shop I called said that it could possibly be from hearing up and cooling down

If you drive truck and it's in direct sun I could see it getting hot enough.

I've seen extreme cold in the North Dakota winter shatter phone screens.
