Had the Note7, what should i go to next?

I had the Note7, and technically still have it in a drawer, waiting for the replacement to come in. The T-Mobile stores have been horrible in returning it. Their store locations CS team are the worst. That being said though, the CS team on the phone is pretty good. They sent me a S7 Edge loaner phone until the new Note7's come in. But they were supposed to be in yesterday. Are they not in or what?

Anyway, if I was to just go and get my money back, what should I get for a phone instead? I really like the whole water resistant thing, since I am by the lake a lot, and one of my phones hit the water in my hand by accident(feel into a hole).

Just call the stores. My experience has been the opposite, excellent service from their reps in store. Yes, they're not super informed, but they got the basics.

Depending on where you are, they got units since yesterday, but they weren't many, apparently, in less -downtowny- areas. I called in yesterday and they had them in all stores, but by the time I could get away from work, they ran out. They said they'd be getting daily or every other day shipments from now on, so just check with them.

I didn't get the fabled e-mail where they notify you, though.

I don't really think that there is a phone that stands with the Note 7, but if I had to get something else it would probably be the S7 Edge. It is the closest to the Note, but no S-Pen or updated TouchWiz. If you are looking outside Samsung, but still android then I would wait for the V20 or the new Nexus phones. Not sure if any of those will have water resistance though. Then there is always the new iPhone if you are looking outside Android.

The Note 7's are coming in. It sounds like you need to be quick though. I grabbed mine on Tuesday from Verizon right after they started doing the exchanges in the morning.

I asked myself the same question actually, but for different reasons. I have -always- had Samsung devices, since the Galaxy S3. The Note 7 had a lot of things going for it, but I found I -hated- the amount of TouchWiz lag on that phone (no improvement over my old S5. Unacceptable for an $850 phone.), and wasn't crazy about the edge screen either, so I returned the phone last week and will not be going back to it. I've been looking for a replacement since then, and it really depends on what's important to you on the device.

If water resistance is that important to you, your options are fairly limited. There isn't a lot that competes with the S7/Note 7 line at the moment. If you can sacrifice the water resistance, it opens a few good options, but they don't all offer the same features. If you can't, then I'd suggest sticking it out with the Note 7, or if you don't use the S-Pen very much, go to an S7/S7 Edge.

Personally, I've decided to wait for the Google Pixel phones to be officially announced before making a decision. All the info we have about them right now is rumour, so there's no way to know what their actual specs/pricing will be until October 4th. If it's not what I'm looking for, I'll likely try a Moto Z for a less-bloated android experience, or maybe wait for the LG V20, though LG's boot-looping history does concern me a little bit.

I'd have to agree with most people here. Samsung is the current leader for waterproof phones, even the iphone 7 is only ip 67 opposed to samsung's phones being ip 68. If you liked the note7 when you first got it I would stick with it, chances are the battery issue is a one time event. If you were partial to it then the s7 and s7 edge have the same ip 68 rating and aren't bad choices imo. The s7 active would be great but last I checked it's only for AT&T. The LG V20 looks very promising as a phone but has no water resistance what so ever. Also, no matter what you decide, I would suggest getting some kind of float for your phone, waterproofing won't help you recover your phone if it's at the bottom of a lake.

Note anymore (see what I did there? ) With the 'green battery' indicator, safe units can use the units in planes. And you ARE allowed to carry the old units, just not have them powered on or charging in-flight.
