Hancom Office Now Available

Hi everyone. I'm new to Android tablet. What's the difference between this one and Google doc and word?

Hancom Office is a very close clone to Microsoft Office. Google Docs is simply Google's free alternative to Microsoft Office... there is compatibility for straightforward document creation but if you are creating complicated tables with a lot of different formatting, you might not be very happy with the results... it is definitely not as feature rich as Office. Hancom is brand new for our tablet so the jury is still out but it's free and looks promising.

I agree. On my 10.1 2014, it's working fine. However, over time, we shall see how comparable it is.

The biggest difference: what the applications support. If you also have an older device, Hancom is problematic. I have the Note 10.1-14, Note 8 and 3. Hancom works only on the 10.4-14. Edit or create a file on the 10.1-14 is problematic should the need arise to edit it on the Note 8 or Note 3. Giggle works on all of the devices, as does Documents To Go, Office Suite, Kingsoft, Polaris, etc.

I've been trying for days with my note 10.1 2014 with kit kat to download word and it closes, I uninstall and it closes continually. I emailed hancom about it but haven't heard back. Am I doing something wrong? I love the program on my note pro 12.

I am still having the problem with all of the apps closing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times and it has not helped.

It's weird that other people on here claim that it's working for them. I don't understand it. There s some mention on the samsung app re hancom office that saves go on sd card. Makes no sense.

I believe all storage on unit is labeled as SD card.... Whether you have a card inserted (labled as "1") or on main internal ram store "0" (Emulated?) ....

Hancom office seems to work fine for me and a lot of others.... Usually on forums only people who have problems with "app" are commenting on having a problem so the numbers are probably skewed into looking like its a bad product when its probably not....... And its not a new product, been around for some time on other platforms, this is only a updated version for 10.1 tablet (2014E) running under Kit Kat....

Dale, do you know if it matters that I do not have an SD card installed yet ? I would think that it would only matter if I was trying to save a document.I can't even open any of the programs after numerous attempts to uninstall and re-install. I do have a 10.1 2014 edition with Kit Kat running. Thanks!

IF you do not have SD card, everything should default to main memory ("0"/emulated)... I do not have SD card and mine works just fine..,.

For those having issues, I noticed my force closes stopped once I downloaded all of the hancom apps.

Well, I didn't say it was a BAD product. It's a GREAT product. I use it on my note pro 12.2. But that's what's pis sing me off because it won't open and keeps closing on my note 10,1 2014 with kit kat. I'm furious. Why would it open on yours and not mine. Makes no sense.

What value is this application if you have other devices and find yourself unable to edit the file on another device? Great application with limited use for a few of us.

I'm not sure if you are being positive or negative about hancom word. In any case, it's valuable to me as a writer. I can write on my desktop with word for mac and edit using hancom word on my note pro 12, which has replaced my macbook air. Or i can write on the pro and edit on the desktop. So it has great value and adds a lot of flexibility for work along with being a great entertainment device. Btw, i now have hancom word on my note 10.1 2014 for even more flexibility. The note pro does everything my macbook air did and more in a form factor more than twice as light, with practically the same screen size and far better resolution and ppi.

To repeat the obvious (which wasn't obvious to me), you need to download all the files before launching any of them. I downloaded Hword alone, tried opening a new doc and it crashed...repeatedly. I uninstalled the file, installed it again along with all the other Hancom files and this time, no problem! It works just fine.

What I am stating is that it works with a limited number of devices. If you have a second device it works on, good. If you have the real Microsoft application, good. If you do not hit on those two, then this application may be problematic.

I have the Note 10.1-14, 3 & 8 and Microsoft Office on my laptop. This application does not run on the Note 3 or Note 8. If one is in a situation similar to mine, this application is problematic. Due to this, there are other applications that do work o n the Note 10.1-14, Note 10.1-12, Note 8 and Note 3.

Consider compatibility is my advise. Not quality, compatibility.

So, I am in the Atlanta airport. I cranked out a draft report for a client using MS Word 2013 with a beautiful but complicated template that I sent to my client for review before I left town on Wednesday.

Travelling I brought my Gnote 10.1 2014 edition an threw my Lenovo ultra book in my bag "just in case". Edits came to me this morning. Complicated template loaded just fine in hancom office. Call out quotes and sidebar comments all kept their layout integrity. Accomplished all my editing in hancom office. Never turned on the ultrabook. Hancom passed my real world test.
