Handcent SMS/ Messaging Icon

Does anybody know how to change the default SMS app to Handcent SMS? Whenever you hit messaging in the system trey it opens the touchwiz/android messaging app that comes loaded. Would greatly appreciate the help.

go to settings>applications>manage applications>go to the stock messaging app>clear defaults

then go to main screen hit the message icon a popup will come up, hit the check mark at the bottom to select default, then hit the handcent option

before this, in your stock message list, hit the menu button, settings and uncheck notifications otherwise it will always popup with both stock and handcent notifications

Thanks a bunch man. Worked just as you described. I spent probably a half hour trying to find a setting to change the default.
