Handcent Users

Wondering if other handcent users see way more battery usage by handcent than by other messaging apps? (i have used handcent on and off, but it seems to drain my battery faster than others, but i text alot).

Haven't really seen much battery drain and been using hancent as my default for abt 6 months now....but I did turn off everything on the default messaging app to stop the dual process

+1 I turned off the notification in the default app also haven't seen any battery drain.

How do you turn off everything? All I can find is making it stop notifying me of new messages.

Have to turn off notifications under sounds----turn off notification flash under displays---force stop messaging under applications

Yeah i shut off the notifications in the regular messages app. I was just wondering bc i check to see what is using how much power in a battery widget, and messaging was almost nothing despite my heavy text usage, but handcent shows a higher percentage since i switched to it. I like the look of it (less boring), but i might have to switch back or try go sms or something.
