Hands-on video and initial review

I agree completely. It will also attract new Android customers, like me for instance. I have been stuck with a BlackBerry and will now be jumping to Android next week due to this phone.

Same here, can not say how angry I am with my BB S2 lol

I will be up at 8am local time here to order and have it sent my way ASAP

I'm right there with you. I've been a blackberry user for 6 years and I'm going to make the jump with this phone. Perfect size, not too small not too big, really good specs in my opinion and solid looking with what I've heard great build quality. I don't want 4g until they work out the kinks with battery life, network issues etc. I'll be glad to have this phone for the next two years and then jump to 4g then.

For me this phone provides the first full touch screen option other than a BlackBerry with global capabilities on Verizon. The Droid 2 Global is too darn heavy and I dislike landscape keyboards. I would have liked some bumped specs (processor, LTE), but I will take it over my BlackBerry Storm2 any day. I am sure there will be better options, but I need a new phone now.

I am right there with you. This is my first post here (transplant from CB) and I agree with the above quote. I have been a BB user for 11 years, most recently the Storm2 for nearly 2 years. There are some strong points to BB but not enough to keep me as a customer. I have been waiting for a global capable phone other than those available currently and, for me, the DInc2 fits my requirements nicely. Absolutely looking forward to retiring the Storm2 and hoping to never feel the need to look back.

the thunderbolt is awesome don't get me wrong, but you are not in a 4g area this phone makes sense. I got the thunderbolt and the signal is horrible. Come to find out, it is because of the lte radio. Yes I have done all the tricks on here but still I get 2 bars at best. For 250 and a 2 year contract I want better. My wifes crappy tour gets great signal. I will be getting an incredible 2 first thing tom.

I'm with you guys. I am converting from a release day Palm Pre- on Sprint. As much as I love WebOS, HP has their work cut out for them if they want to compete in the current market. Therefore I am taking a two-year hiatus from WebOS and trying out Android. The DINC2 seems like a very solid phone: hardware as well as software. This will also be my first go-around with an onscreen keyboard, so we'll see how that goes. I really can't wait to have so many more useful applications at my disposal. (Mint, Dish Network, Google Maps Navigation, etc.)

You're buying the right brand (HTC / Sense) when it comes to stock on-screen keyboards. When I went from a BlackBerry to the original Inc, I was very pleasantly surprised at how great the typing experience is -- the auto-correction is very accurate & quick; also, the haptic feedback feels right.

I've tried the on-screen keyboards of iPhones & Moto Droids -- did not care for those keyboards after using HTC's. Just my feedback.

You can also download keyboards from the market. I highly recommend SwiftKey.

no need to cut the phone down. It is global it does come with a 16 gig micro SD card( I THINK)
has a front face camera. 4.0 screen. I know it isn't a 4g device. I do have the original INC and it is a very good phone. For someone who doesn't want 4g and wants a good decent phone, this one is it. There is nothing wrong with this phone. And I doubt it will have the complaints that the Thunderbolt has. And it is suppose to have a noise cancel mic and also has surround sound. It will be a phone for someone............not everyone wants the TB and until it is improved I for one, don't want it. I have two friends who have it and they hate it.

No one is downing the phone, the point is in comparison to the original DInc this is not a significant upgrade. An upgrade certainly but not a significant one.

I wonder if the battery life will be better on this phone. I also would love to hear that the dinc1 battery will fit in this phone too so I don't have to spend a small fortune on accessories if i buy this one.

I won't have the Inc2 til tomorrow; otherwise, I'd swap batteries & tell you.

One video blogger said he had everything on - GPS, bright screen, Bluetooth, etc. - and after 11-12 hours, the battery was still at 40%. I'm sure he was testing the device much of that time. Anyway, since the Inc2 has a bigger battery than the Thunderbolt and a slightly smaller screen, battery life is expected to be very good by Android smartphone standards.

Actually, IIRC, the blogger went on to say that it was the best battery life he had ever seen in the many droid phones he's reviewed. Sounds very promising!

I would comment on battery life (since I have it) but I honestly haven't put it down since I bought it, so I can't say what the day-to-day battery life would be for me.

I will say that when I turned it on for the first time, it had a 50% charge and I used it for at least 2 hours before plugging it in, at which point the battery life was at 30%. So at that rate, that's about 10% per hour of constant, nonstop use. During the time I was downloading tons of apps, taking pics, browsing the web, listening to music, and watching a few YouTube videos.

So I would say (based on that short period of time) that the battery life is fantastic, but again, I really don't know yet and won't until tomorrow night after I've gone through a normal day's use.

^^ give it a few days I'm just hoping that it will last for a day I'm tired of mid day charges

Most likely, HTC only uses two or three different batteries and this LOOKS like it is the same as the DInc (or at least the same design)... thickness would be the key.

I actually have a battery out of a HTC Imagatdo (1500 mAh instead of the 1300 mAh that comes with it) in my DInc1; it is slightly thicker but still fits behind the standard door.

How do you use 7 phones? Different one each day? :p

I have more than one line but yes I swap them around from time to time and use them in WiFi at home. I basically buy (almost) all of VZW's top tier models (Moto, and HTC). Fortunately I can scratch Samsung off the list of manufacturers, although now we have LG doing some great stuff.
