Hangouts 2.0

Has anyone using the 4.4 launcher also downloaded hangouts 2.0 and set it as their default text? Have you been having issues receiving MMS mail?

Not that I know of. Mine has been fine, least sending MMS. However I am on a nexus 4.

Im thinking bc i have the original texting app, than i had facebook messenger also as a texting app bc i liked the chathead and i just put up hangout 2.0. maybe too many texting apps are conflcting

Works for me, only have the stock messaging app and hangouts installed as far as apps capable of sms go.
