Hangouts and SMS

So, let's assume all the speculation is correct and the next version of Hangouts incorporates SMS and MMS.

Does that mean, then, that anyone who uses Hangouts on a tablet will be able to send SMS and MMS messages from the tablet? That would be truly awesome - I'd love to have all my text messages centralized through Google and to be able to send messages from both my phone and tablet.

Yes, that's what the thought it. I'm not sure about mms...but sms is definitely highly rumored in the next Hangout update.

I'm a big fan of GO SMS Pro, but I'd honestly drop it in a second if it meant I could send texts from my N7 and have a centralized buckets of all my messages.

That's the end result, in my opinion. We'll see soon if that's what Google has in mind and if it'll work the way we hope it will
