Hangouts contact pictures

Noticed that one of my most used contacts avatar doesn't show up in the thread. Instead I get the generic pic. It shows fine it a group thread and her picture is correct in contacts.

anybody else have this issue with hangouts?

It might be an error in the servers. I see that every now and then, and later they get fixed for no reason.
