Hangouts SMS help please

We have bought my wife a Nexus 5 to replace an old Wildfire S. The N5 looks great, but she is struggling with Hangouts. Many of you will think this is probably a stupid question so please be gentle with me, but how can she forward a received text message to another person in her contact list.

Secondly are there any template SMS, such as "running late be there in 5 minutes"

1. Long Press the actual text message and forward option pops up.
2. i don't see any "Quick Text" template options.

I and many others have fired Hangout for our SMS app. Hangout's UI is so Quirky. Hangout wants to be one app to do voice calls, video calls, text (SMS) and email. Hangout failed for me do to the quirky UI. I have had a Android phone for two years and Hangout was making me not like my new phone with sending SMS and MMS messages.

I used a free app "8SMS" version from Think Left's build of CyanogenMod. It is simple to use like my old phone for texting. All you have to do is download the App. Then go to your Setting > More > Default SMS App and pick Messaging.

There are lots of other SMS Apps that people use like Textra and Go SMS Pro but this 8SMS is simple and I like the format. It takes the picture from your contact list and even if you are talking to three or more people in text you know who said what with their picture. Now I use the phone symbol to make a voice call, Go to the Blue Smile face for Texting and go to my non-Google email App since I don't want two contact records for everyone that has a cell phone number and email address.
