Is there a way to reply to just the sender if you receive an MMS to multiple people in hangouts?

I don't see a simple way other than start a new hangout with just that one person.

The "Hangout" with the MMS in it is between you and everyone else in the conversation. If you had already been in a Hangout with the sender prior to receiving the mass MMS, it would show up as a new conversation anyway.

So yeah, start a new Hangout.

simplest way is to long press last msg from person you want to reply to, in the pop up click forward and select same person
