Today's the day! Excited over here, thought I'd start this up to see who else is pumped. Pixel or Pixel XL?? :)

Going to wait and see where I can handle one, see if they are fully carrier unlocked and bloat-free. I also want to see the battery life. I lean toward the Pixel 128, but I might go for the XL 128 if battery life is significantly better. Don't have the budget right now anyway. Maybe a Black Friday / Christmas season thing.

Google will have interest free financing...

How soon after the announcement is the pre order live going by past launches?

We are assuming that info will be given during the event.

Until Google announces it we don't know.. They could only offer financing with Fi like they do now.. I doubt financing will be tied to Fi but......

Neither for now, though I'd definitely lean towards the XL. It was far easier to jump on the Google bandwagon when pricing was much less. The new Google strategy is to offer a flagship phone at flagship pricing, and sell it where the other flagships are sold. As such, I will need to actually hold the phone and see how it works before I buy. Also read reviews and forums to see how it's being accepted in the marketplace. Will also wait for a sale or promo.

I'm not being critical of Google's new strategy. To become a mainstream player, ala Apple and Samsung, you have to meet them head on. The old Nexus strategy only took them so far. Nexus never became more than a boutique or niche brand.

I'm curious at least. The Pixel would have to be something super extra special to get me to ever cough up flagship phone money again. I've been off that bandwagon since my Nexus 4. Hopefully the leaked iPhone look-a-like images are just a ruse to lower expectations in advance of the real announcement.

My 2014 Moto X is still going strong fortunately, but the lack of timely s/w updates from Lenovo is a major annoyance. Hopefully the Nexus program isn't actually dead and we'll see more reasonably priced phones with the pure Android experience and timely s/w updates.

Just waiting on the stream (or well keynote) to start.

Eagerly awaiting the live stream as well here... Wondering how much $$$ I gotta part with for an XL 😁.

Can't see a good reason to spend an extra $100 on the XL for just a bigger battery and screen. With the higher resolution of the XL, the battery won't be as big of a upgrade. But, 2750 mAh in the Pixel seems quite small. I also hate the form factor and that it resembles the iPhone way too much. I had an iPhone 6 plus for 5 months and I hated the way it felt in my hand.

trust me the battery life is gonna be much better on the XL, stand by time would improve a great deal. And its been a while since 2k screens have been out, they don't sip THAT much more power than FULL HD

Never watched a launch, before. But, this one was of interest, to me, and just happened to be occurring as I was eating lunch. Then the "starting at $650" was mentioned.

Turned it off. I'm out.

Ordered without a 2nd thought! My only problem was deciding between 32 and 128...

$650? Nah, I'm good. I prefer to not contribute to the "phones so expensive that they require a financing option" economy.

Pulled the trigger on the 5inch 128gb. One of the financing options was your 1st born child, so I clicked that. Pixel XL 128gb required your soul, so I passed.
