Hard Reset not working

Hi all. Yesterday I went to clear the Catche from my Sense because I was having an issue installing Widgets onto any of my screen's. Now I get a message box that says "Loading.... It may take several minutes to complete, please wait."

So I let it run, and run, and run, and after about 5 hours of it running it still is stuck on the same screen. Now I am starting to get worried. So I do a soft reset, including a battery pull, to see if that is the issue. Same problem when I reboot my phone. Around Midnight (approx 12 hours after the Cache clearing) I perform a Factory Reset. This does not cure the problem. Thinking it might now be an issue with an app that I had installed I went in and deleted all my apps on my sd card. Still having the same problem. Does anyone have any hints or tips or tricks for me to try? I am starting to get worried that I might have bricked my phone.

Thanks a bunch!

P.S. TB is rooted and has Titanium Installed

Did you make a nandroid backup with rom manager/clockworkmod recovery?

If you did you should do a battery pull, boot into recovery mode when phone is off by holding power and volume down together until you get to hboot, then select recovery with power button, and restore your backup.

Let me know if you did not.

I did not make a nandroid backup with either rom manager or clockworkmod recovery. The only backup I had was data/apps with Titanium =(

You need to learn how to make backups with rom manager /cwr there is a sticky by Cyber Warrior http://forum.androidcentral.com/thu...-backup-restore-install-roms-thunderbolt.html this is very important, it will save you from almost all problems like this in the future.

What i would do now is make sure the rom you want is on your sd card and you know where it is, boot into recovery mode, wipe cache partition, dalvik cache (under advanced), and wipe data/factory reset, then install zip from sd card>choose zip from sd card>find your rom .zip file and select it.
This will flash your rom again, and you should be okay from there, and you should be able to reboot successfully (give it 15 minutes or so).

If that doesnt work i think you might have to download the radio (ruu) and flash that in hboot as a pg05img.zip, which will revert you to stock, and then you can root again afterwards, but try to reflash your rom first, and read the sticky on backups bc they are very important.

Lesson learned. I've downloaded the rom I want, and I've placed it on the sd card, however now when I go to boot in recovery mode it does not boot. I get a black screen with a triangle picture of the phone and an "!" picture, and the phone does not do anything after this, and the only way to exit is to do a battery pull.

Right I guess you never flashed recovery thru rom manager app.

I think you'll probably have to go back to stock, the instructions for which can be found here:
[HOWTO] Return to stock properly and safely. - xda-developers
This involves adb but i assume that if you rooted the tbolt you should be able to unroot it with this method it doesnt appear to be very complicated.

Then after you return to stock, you can root again if you choose to. First thing you should do after you root is download rom manager and make a nandroid backup, this will save you from getting stuck like this. Make sure to read the sticky by Cyber Warrior.

Wait can you get to hboot? or it goes straight to the black screen?

Do you get the white screen with android skaterboarders first?

I can get to the white screen with the green android's skating on it. But when I go to enter Hboot it does not do anything.

I'm downloading the xda files now. This is my first android device so I am not 100% familiar with what I should be doing but I had no problems rooting and following Cory Streater's instructions on rooting and then moving bloat onto the sd card.

Thank you for your patience in dealing with this smartphone newb :P

Sure. Good luck getting back to stock and be sure to read up if you decide to root again.

Negative, I ended up going to Verizon and they could not fix it either. I am getting a replacement shipped to me, but the first thing I'm going to do is create a nandroid backup you can bet on that!
