Hard reset of phone. Still rooted

So I had a sync icon that would not go away. Verizon told me the only way to get rid of it was to do a hard reset. I was just going to leave it but I am sure it is killing my battery. So I hard reset the phone and start to reinstall all apps. I figure that I will no longer be able to easy root the phone because app is not available. Well looks like my phone is still rooted, because one of the apps asked for superuser permission. Now my question is without the app, how do I unroot if i choose?

A hard reset doesn't unroot (as you now know). The method of unrooting depends on which phone you have, which isn't clear in your first post.

I have the Droid X. I emailed the developer for the key for easy root. I never received it.

download that one click droid x root, not the one your talking about the one that you run on a windows pc. Its free and easy, just click unroot and your done.

Similar Circumstance

I have the Samsung Fascinate, and having some issues with the rooted phone, I attempted to reboot from a saved recovering, and from that point, my phone has been unusable.

i can either have it stuck on the battery charge screen with the search icon running, or the Samsung Logo frozen to the screen.

I'm planning on returning the device if i cannot undo the circumstances, though was curious if there was a way to factory reset or any other way to more or less "hide" the fact that i rooted the phone...?

I would like to know too, I rooted my Fascinate a while back and it just behaves really clunky. Normally its just takes it a while longer to catch, but today after setting a live wall paper it froze completely and after 5 minutes, the phone rebooted and the touch screen stopped working... I had a really fun time trying to restart it without the touch screen. Finally some combination of power and volume up seemed to do the trick. But yeah, that was a big downer! I wanna go back!

CAUTION!!!

From what i have read, this might be able to unroot the samsung fascinate, as it is a galaxy s make. I have not done this procedure!

I'll post anything else that might lead to unrooting the fascinate, best of luck!
