Hard Reset? (other than factory reset)

Hello again.

Yes I did search the internets long and far before I posted here.

Does anyone know how to do a "hard reset" on the Galaxy Tab 10.1? Other than doing a factory reset? I've looked in some places that say holding down the power button whilst holding the volume up key, then letting go of the volume up key will do it. Doesn't work for me, I think that's for the original 7" Tab...

I saw one post somewhere about a Fastboot something, but I've never heard of that. Was looking for a hardware-related hard reset.

Also, the factory reset (by definition) resets and undoes the Touchwiz update right?

I was wondering how to do a hard reset without wiping the Touchwiz update.

Much thanks.

I don't believe this is possible. A hard reset is basically what it says, its meant to reset everything on your device. A soft reset might be more along the lines of what your looking for, I'm not sure what the procedure is to do it on the Tab.

Edit: From my searches the hard reset is performed by doing...

[INFO]With the device off, press and hold the Volume down key then briefly push the power button. (Basically the same thing as performing a factory reset from your Settings option.)[/INFO]
[info]
A soft reset is performed by holding down the power button for 8-10 secs and this should reboot the device to free it from lockups and other issues. [/info]
