hardware in the x

hi, Iv noticed after downloading some of these newer games from gameloft that the graphics are pretty impressive ..and on top of that, the fps is pretty good too..

is the hardware in the x pretty advanced? I mean the game looks and performs like it does on my psp..

what is the cpu and gpu inside this device?


also, looking to get a tablet.
is it worth waiting for 4g or will that be a while before that is common place?
need the functionality of a laptop without the bulk of one..

was looking at the galaxy or even the ipad..

The Droid X has a dedicated GPU which makes a big difference. As far as your tablet question, I really don't see the need for one if you are a Droid X owner. But if I did get one, the iPad would probably be the one I would get. The Galaxy Tab doesn't seem to offer anything more than what the Droid X already does. You could get an iPad and then use the 4G card with it.

Well as far as the Droid X does and hardware it is pretty good. Right now the most you will find different among the high end smart phones is screen technology. Sure one might have a different type of processor but all in all most hover around 1Ghz. There are phones out there with a better GPU then they DX. Namely the Galaxy S line. Couple that with the amazing Super AOMLED screen games look really good. However the standard right now is 1Ghz processor and varying levels of dedicated GPUs. However with the Tegra2 phones coming out eventually (dual core) that will change...

Droid X holds its own for sure.

4G is a myth. Seriously though 4G with Verizon is still in its infant stage. If other carriers with 4G are an indication it will be a very long time before it is common place. Sure if you live in a high profile city like New York, Boston, ect then you might see it sooner. My point here is why pay for a 4G enabled device if you never go where 4G is offered...

I like the Galaxy Tab but as much as I hate Apple I like their iPad more.

Droid X has great hardware....the best at 512 mb ram. My fascinate has a better gpu (540 instead of 530) but the 512 ram is cut for video, so the OS only gets like 300ish mb ram making my X the top hardware choice (personal) I am a real fan of the humming bird and A8.
