This is a new one. The plastic around the bottom of my earpiece / above the screen is starting to bow up. I noticed this a week ago and took some pics today.

Anybody else having this issue? Anybody else heard of this?

Damn that sucks! Do you work in extreme temps or did it get caught on something...I know it doesn't stick up too much farther than the screen?

Thats no good. Do you have insurance? I hope you go.

On a quick side note what apps are you using for the Battery percent in the corner and the weather in the corner? Thanks in advanced and I hope you get it fix!

T-Rex - No i dont work in extreme temps. I do live in Texas though. It was only recently that i noticed it.
On a side note, i did leave it in my back pack in my truck (but not in direct sunlight) as my laptop and other electronic devices are in there as well. Unfortunately i dont know if it was warped before or after that.

cgardner - I work in the smartphone repair industry. I can order a housing and replace it my self but i am not as its not affecting any functions as of yet. BatteryMonitor Widget by 3c is what i am using to monitor voltage, current and percentage. The red icons are an add on pack he has. I like the app a lot.
Weather is provided by the WeatherBug app. Both of the apps are the full premium versions.

Correct me if I'm wrong but i thought the frame around the screen was made out of aluminum?

Thanks IamSix!

I will look into them! Sorry to hear about the issue with your phone. Glad you can order the parts. If it was me I would just replace it. Then again I would if it was cheap. Otherwise if it works fine and your good with it then why bother! :P

Good luck with the device! I am enjoying mine.

T-Rex i think your right.
I pushed down with my finger and it didnt move.
I then used a small flat head screw driver and was able to put it back into place.
Now its even weirder how this could have happened. Aluminum should not do that once its molded in place.
Now since its metal, like all metals when its heated it will expand and cooled i will contract.
makes me wonder if its getting just warm enough when its charging to cause some expansion.
Just a theory.
Either way i pushed it down. Looks much better. still a small gap but closer to original then before.

Good to hear that you got it looking better. I agree that it does seem weird how that could've happened. Like I said before, maybe it got caught on something but the bezel doesn't really stick up that far above the screen to get caught on something. So the mystery remains, lol.

Yup and again thanks for pointing out its aluminum. DUH.. lol i am so used to plastic devices.

Well lets not get into the battery issues.. Right now I'm having a problem with the rim around the phone . it's starting to come off and i'm not sure why . I spoke to a rep at sprint and he said that in the beginning they saw this and other issues on the device and that they did fix or replace many of the devices but stopped doing it because it was costing the company too much money in repairs, I guess people took advantage. he then suggested that I make an insurance claim, but I'm not really into dropping another 100bux on a device that I already own .. .. A lot of issues that I've been having with this device were completely unheard of on the first EVO. :(

I use my EVO 3D as a back up to my Epic Touch.
Other then mine having some paint peeling off its still a good unit. Overall i think the 3D was great.
