Harman Kardon M8 Voice/Mic Problems?

Recently the mic on my son's phone stopped working (randomly at first - now permanent). He can hear the caller just fine but we can't hear him. Google voice command, etc. also aren't working. On a side note, you can hear movement on the phone (tapping or scratching the back) when trying to talk to him but no voice. We've taken the case off and done a few soft resets but nothing more. Anyone else have this problem or any suggestions on what it might be?

I have one and have had no problems. Have you tried using the wired earphones that came with it? If you can hear him over those, I would guess it's a hardware problem and would take it into a Sprint store to see if they can help.

I just sent my VZW M8 out for the 3rd time to the repair center in Texas for the exact same issue.
So this isnt limited to just HK models. Very frustrating.
