Has anyone been able to figure out why some of us are having the problem of the checking for new software dialogue box disappearing when trying to update? I live in Atlanta, GA and i know some users in my city were able to get the update but I have been trying since last night to get the update, but that dialogue box keeps closing and going back to the menu. Tried, 4g, 3g, 1x, restarts, took out battery, wifi, and even took out the battery and sim card for 10 minutes and still no luck. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening??

The update is rolling out in phases from what I understand. A lot of people grabbed it last night but that may have been the exception to the rule. Are you running the leaked MR2 update or the standard MR1 update?

If the started MR1 update is the one that was released back in May, then yes. I haven't installed any leaked software.

I don't know the answer, but I have been having the same problem. My mom and I both have the Thunderbolt and I was able to update mine with no issues but hers has been having the disappearing update thing. Tried everything, no dice. This is in northern NJ if it makes a difference.

Just be patient and it should show up within the week. If you're in a rush, you can do as I did and install the leaked (Official) version.
