Has anyone come up with a clever way to mod the back cover to stop it from wobbling when flat?

By far, one of my biggest gripes is that the phone is nearly impossible to use when laying flat on a surface. It's really annoying. I'm thinking it would be worth it to permanently attach some sort of wedge on both the left and right sides of the back cover (maybe near the top so it won't get in the way of your hand when holding) to stop the wobbles from happening.

Has anyone thought to do this and was able to come up with something clever that doesn't look horrible? Or, if the thought hasn't crossed your mind, what would you suggest?

Surely it can be set down on the edge of a book or newspaper? There's always stuff on my desk to set it down on.
I use a Spigen case with the curve still there and no problems.

Well I have the Ballistic jewel case and I put a a charging cable running perpendicular where the volume button is and it greatly reduces the rock.
