SVTP was great on my Gnex and obviously not working on the G2. I'm not interested in rooting and thought something would be figured out by now but so far no go...

I am pretty sure rooting is the only way to get around it. You might be able to use the ADB driver thing to side load the 2 files, but I am not sure of it.

If you are on a share everything plan then you can use the stock WiFi app without any charges. If like a lot of use you have keep your unlimited than you have to pay the monthly fee of $30 to use WiFi. But unlike before now when you pay the $30 you get to use your unlimited data! I had a MiFi when I had my GNex because the signal wasn't strong enough at my work to use the WiFi ( I also used STVP on my GNex) and was paying a whopping $80 a month for it! Since I got my G2 the signal is so much better I can use it for a WiFi at work, so I pay the $30 and canceled my MiFi and am saving $50 a month. So it doesn't bother me to pay. The main factor of course is you get to use your unlimited data! I'm on day 15 this month and have used a total of 12 GB of data so far.

Open Garden works fine for me.

Posted via Android Central App

I was thinking to try it out but from reviews for Open Garden indicates that the app can't be turn off, if you force close it it'll just restart again.

I was thinking about buying the G2 but if SVTP does not work I will have to stay with my Gnex. why does SVTP not work on the G2 and who do i have to pay to get them to crack the code so it will work?
