Has anyone gone from a Blackberry to EPIC?

I don't feel like reading everything so I'll just put in my few pennies:

Went from iPhone to Bold to Curve ( for a day) to the Tour. After switching from the iPhone to the BB I never looked back. I hated that thing. The BB is a good ALL business phone. It does what it needs to do and it does it well.

I switched because I wanted a phone for a more multimedia approach again. Waited for the epic because of the screen and physical keyboard as apposed to getting the evo the day it came out.

The first thing I knew I would miss was my keyboard. That went away. I still don't type as fast as I did on my BB but I'm getting there. At times I find myself typing with the phone in one hand and the other doing something else ALMOST as fast as the BB. Still getting use to it.

At time I wish it didn't have a keyboard so there would be no screen wobble; but, then, I wouldn't play the video games because I'm not a touch screen "button" person. That goes for typing as well. Swype is a miracle.

I did miss the email second as I didn't realize the actual gmail application pushed. I haven't messed with the samsung app but I wasn't updating for me. Not sure what it was though. I gave up on it, lol.

I grabbed a co-workers camera and took a pic of my Epic's email. Hopefully this shows what you are looking for.

That is the Gmail application! I already said that app supports HTML. The app for coorporate email only shows text for me. I see no option for HTML and others told me the same thing. I think you guys are not understanding. maybe you have gmail checking all your emails so only use the gmail application that supports HTML. The email app I am referring to has a white icon and labeled Mail!

Wow! I am wondering what phone you have. That picture is not from the Gmail app. It is from the one with the icon labeled mail.

No it's not. That pic is from the gmail app. The mail app does not support HTML.

The Mail client on the Epic does not show HTML for exchange accounts. It works with pop email though. I just tried it with exchange and pop. The pop mail worked with HTML but the exchange email only got text. Rally disappointing.

I had a blackberry 9000 and 9630. Its a big difference if you want a phone for media or business. Email isn't all that much different imo if you use gmail. Unless your worried about encryption.

I use this phone so much more than my bb. I would just email and text on it. I play games on here watch movies and so forth. I wouldn't even further browsing the web on my bb.

I switched from a BB Tour. There are a few things I miss, not many, but a few. And the benefits, far outweigh the trade offs. No Email is so important that I can't wait 5 minutes for it. I do really miss the ringer profiles. AND , the tour's KB was very nice. But, we'll adjust.

I miss my awesome battery life.. There have been times when I left for a weekend without recharging.. It is IMPOSSIBLE to do so on an Android... I Used my BB more than my Android but the Android takes 3-4 charges to match my BB. Phone tech has eclipsed battery tech so it's not the phones fault totally but it will only get worse as Android phones are becoming increasingly more powerful while batteries are not keeping up..

Also, the following apps all suck on Android: Email (I have yet to fine a quick & robust app that matches (not almost matches) my BB, Facebook (ALL broken half-baked apps), FourSquare (BB version is a thousand times faster and works better), Twitter (the official app on BB is WAY WAY BETTER than the half done Android one), Alarm/Clock, AIM (I don't care for the 'extra stuff').. I find myself using Pure Messenger/Calendar widget to *sort of*mimic what I had on my BB (works GREAT BTW!!!). I am most def loving Android but it will def be a while before it catches up to the polished working of a BB.
