Has anyone got the Lollipop update yet?

Re: Anyone received 5.0 OTA? Anyone? Anywhere?

People have a right to be annoyed if something is promised but not delivered. I don't know why Google can't do it the way Apple does. Announce a time and then let everyone have it as soon as they want to do the upgrade. Surely Google has just as much server capacity as Apple, if not more.

I'm pretty sure no one in the world has as much server capacity as Google. Like,....by a lot.

And I know the OEM's have the carriers to deal with. They can't tell AT&T to go f**k themselves the way Apple can. But Google should have the OTA's ready to go for WiFi-only Nexi.

So what's the deal? I've heard from no one that's gotten it.

It will take a week or two for updates to roll out, pushing major version to every Nexus device isn't going to be server friendly.

Also let us not forget, lollipop is ART only. Last I heard many major apps were still making changes so that apps work great on ART (I'm looking at you Twitter)

And Google just started shipping Nexus 9 out. They will obviously have major workforce on Nexus 9 builds

Re: Anyone received 5.0 OTA? Anyone? Anywhere?

Google didn't lied yesterday, they did released Lollipop, with the Nexus 9. I don't remember seeing anything about OTA.

Re: Anyone received 5.0 OTA? Anyone? Anywhere?

Google did officially announce it would be released today. I read it on Android Authority, a Google Android developer made the official statement. Browsing around different Android sites and forums, I saw a few people who said they got it. Idk what's going on.

Golly gee, that sure sounds official...

Re: Anyone received 5.0 OTA? Anyone? Anywhere?

This is from their official Android blog posted yesterday. So it should have started to roll out yesterday.
“Design is a major focus for Lollipop—the latest version of Android—which begins to roll out today.”

Re: Anyone received 5.0 OTA? Anyone? Anywhere?

This is just bull****. I always wondered why Google never did updates like Apple. Surely the user pool of Apple devices is much larger than Nexus devices, and yet Apple is the one to launch the OTA update for all devices at the same time. I remember when I had an iPhone, getting iOS 7 right on the release day was nearly impossible, but this year I had 2 iPads and an iPhone successfuly updated to iOS 8 the hour it launched. If they're having problems with carriers, then why don't release the OTA update for Wi-Fi only and carrier free devices?

They promised OTA updates to start Nov 3, but I haven't seen anyone to actually get one and the factory images for flashing aren't in their webpage either.

Re: Anyone received 5.0 OTA? Anyone? Anywhere?

well it was technically released today on the n9. It usually takes a week or two for older phones to get it. Last year the moto x got kitkat before the nexus 4.

Re: Anyone received 5.0 OTA? Anyone? Anywhere?

Maybe Google gets giggles tweaking the anal-retentive folks on the forum? My Nexus 5 worked great yesterday, works great today, and I'll get Lollipop when it comes around.

Re: Anyone received 5.0 OTA? Anyone? Anywhere?

Not really. The image for the 2012 nexus 7 wifi is on XDA and google +. Having a 2012 3g nexus 7 im just going to wait for the OTA of the finalized version. Really curious about android auto.

Dan Morril:

"Rollouts are conducted in phases. Typically they start at 1% of devices for around 24 - 48 hours; we watch the return rates and resulting device checkins and error reports (if any), and make sure nothing looks wrong before sending it to more. Then typically it goes to 25%, 50%, 100% over the course of a week or two."

Nothing on my N7 2013 wifi 16GB, Estonia. :'(

Re: Anyone received 5.0 OTA? Anyone? Anywhere?

Care to provide a link for xda or g+ image? Thanks.

Well, a few people allegedly received the update, so I'm guessing they might be the lucky 1%, by tomorrow it should be reaching 25%. If all goes well, I'm assuming the update will reach most of us by the end of the week. Fingers crossed that I'll be and to get the update on my phone tomorrow.

Any idea when factory images will be available for Android 5?

I'd like not to wait for update OTA ... I would like to flash my nexus 4 as soon as possible. :)

You're probably onto something here. My phone works fantastic without the latest software. I'll be ready when it gets here, but I'm not going to stress out over a few new items.
