Has anyone had problems with the HTC One and their Airave?

Ever since release day and I brought it home, when my phone goes to the net via my wireless network it drops my internet for a minute or two...I almost took my phone back to Best Buy for a replacement but Sprint seems to think that my Airave needs to be replaced with a newer model....It gets here tomorrow....Wish me luck! HJ

The new model is certainly better, but I already had it when I got the One. I did have some horrible issues with texting for the first couple of days, though. It would not, absolutely NOT, send or receive a text while connected to the Airave. After a couple of days the problem went away. Who knows - maybe they pushed an update to the Airave. The tech support guy said that the were having several issues like mine, though he said it was happening with a bunch of other LTE devices, so they have known about it for awhile.

I have the 2nd gen airave as well and I have no issues with my HTC One connecting to it and going out on it.

hopefully that will resolve your issue

No problems here. When I first got the Airave, I couldn't send texts with my GNex. The other two phones (Epic and Optimus Elite) had no such problems. Finally a call to Airave support solved it by them reactivating my phone. The One thus far has been flawless.

Well, I'm still having the same problem....The airave tech suggested I keep my phone's wifi off when at home until they figure it out I guess....HJ

Try updating your PRL when AWAY from your Airave. I had to do this with my new One and my son's (my old) EVO-4G. I upgraded my phone to the One, gave him the old EVO-4G, and we switched numbers. When we tried texting in the house (on the Airave), neither one of us could send or receive. My daughter could do both on her Iphone 4S, also connected to the Airave. I went through Sprint Customer Care and they did a wipe and reprovision of both phones. We could then recieve texts but not send them (or was it the other way around?).

It required me leaving the house, going out of Airave range and re-updating my PRL (and Profile - maybe not needed) for everything to work... but now it does - both outside Airave range and in the house.

Are airaves worth it? Around Jacksonville I get good coverage everywhere.. But I just bought a house that seems to be in a dead spot. When in the house I'll have 1 bar if I am lucky.. Or I go roaming. So I was thinking of calling Sprint about an Airave. Does it help? Also does it use a ton of your Internet bandwidth or only a little?

Thanks in advance :).

I tried ( and succeeded) updating my PRL away from the Airave then I turned wifi back on....Once I updated my blinkfeed it dropped my internet...This sucks not being able to use my home network and having to use 3G.....HJ

Do you have your Airave connected in front of or behind your router? (i.e. Modem>Airave>Router or Modem>Router>Airave)

I had the same issue. I reported it a couple days after launch. The tech had me try a number of things, including reactivating my phone, but nothing worked. Finally, they had me reset the Airave (pinhole in the back), and after it booted back up, texting started working.

I think it's worth it. One thing I didn't realize is that the transition from airave to cell towers is not smooth. If you're on a call when you get home, you'll drop the call when you enter the house / connect to the airave. The same happens if you leave the house while on a call. And I've had to reboot my airave a few times (it just wasn't doing anything for some reason). But the benefits of actually having a signal in my home are worth those minor inconveniences. And it's free.

Yeah I called and they gave me some BS that I'm only in my first 2 year so I can't get one for free... Even though it is up in 6 months lol.

But I called under my dad's account (he has been with them since 96) and got one for nothing through his account. Once he gets it I'll hook it up at my house and bam.. Service. :D.

I had the same problem with my new Samsung S 4G.

I went to "manage my airrave" on Sprint.com and found my cell phone number was not listed on allowed numbers. (it somehow disappeared when my new phone was activated). I entered my cell phone number and problem was solved. Apparently Sprint Customer Service is not aware about this solution>

It was a bad router that was causing the trouble...HJ

Glad to hear it works since I have one now! I need a phone to be compatible with it otherwise I have no bars in the house :o.

I'm also glad it works, I'm trying to decide on my next device; GS4 or HTC One and I need the phone to work with my Airave.

Btw, which Airave do you guys have?
I've seen 2 from Sprint, the one I have which is a nice white and black Samsung with 4 blue LEDs. But I have seen a white one with green LEDs and no brand, just Sprint logo.

I am at work so can't snapshot mine so I did a Google image search. It's white with green lights.

I have the latest Airave 2.5.

Ok. Yea that one is newer then mine, I've heard a lot of people complain about the white one with green LEDs. So far, since June or July 2009 no problems with my Samsung Airave.
