Has anyone made a video of how "multi-tasking" breaks some apps?

Some people seem to think that the multi-tasking issue is merely an app reloading for a couple seconds such as a webpage. While annoying, most native or popular apps still work OK though not true multi-tasking.

But what about fringe apps that get broken by the way the phone handles things? For example, I use an app called SuperLive Pro. It let's you view security cameras on the phone. But, let's say I have the app open and I get a text. If I go reply to the text then try to go back to the SuperLive app, it's stuck in a loading loop and the only way to kill it is to go back to home, open settings, go to apps, and do a force close on the app. Never had that happen once on the 3d or OG Evo. The main issue is when showing this to a customer it looks like it the system doesn't work which is bad for business.

There are also a lot of games that don't handle it very well either. I don't game a lot, but puzzle games like 100 Floors break if you switch away from the app.

I would like to make a video showing how this multi-tasking method breaks things but don't have the proper setup. The only cameras I have are my phone and tab, and it's difficult to set the tab up for something like this.

Does anyone that recognizes that in some cases apps get messed up that has a proper setup want to take a video? We might make more progress with HTC if we can show them how the phone improperly handles things which cause apps to freak out. It's easy to say it's broken and they can deny it, but if they can see something like I described above with the SuperLive app, there's no way they can claim that is how they intended things to work.

If not, I can try to rig my tab to get a video but don't think that would come out well. Can try borrowing a camera from a neighbor.

100 Floors works fine for me.

Please don't be a jerk. If you don't have a problem, keep it out of this thread.

I haven't done a search myself, but I would be willing to bet there are a few on YouTube, either One X or EVO.
EDIT: You may not find one specific to SuperLive though.

And this is what happens with the other app. But stills don't really show how easily the multi-tasking breaks the apps and the steps needed to get them back up again. The first picture is what you should see, the second is what happens if you switch to any other app then go back. Then like I said before, I have to go into settings and force close it because it's not non-responsive.

You keep saying that, but I suspect few of us believe you (I certainly don't). It might be that you can't identify the problem, or that the problem doesn't bother you. But I would almost stake my life on the fact that you do have the same issue. It is not that some phones are "broken" and others are not. It is a design flaw (or "choice" as HTC would have us believe) that is in the settings of all stock HTC One X and HTC Evo LTE devices.

Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE: Multitasking, Issue or Not? - YouTube

It is not a great video- far too long, he had problems/delays, and it doesn't illustrate the fatal problems of lack of multitasking, just some of the annoying aspects of it. I agree with you that it would be nice if there were a few better videos. I am not into video, though (and have no youtube account or experience, either).

What really bothers me about the way this works is it just ruins different apps differently, and it keeps certain apps in memory that don't make any sense.

For instance, with Listen for podcasts, I was about 20/80 MB downloaded for a podcast, got a call, and when I went back to it (I did nothing else in between) the app reloaded, my download was restarted, and I was back to 0/80 and had to do it all over again. The 15 minutes into the show I was in, I couldn't get back to where I was on the way home because it needed at least another 10MB. Garbage.

And as usually happens, last night I was browsing pages, using tapatalk, and going back and forth between them. Web pages were loaded, tapatalk reloaded plenty.. yet Poweramp and Audible, things I hadn't used in about 8 hours, were happily sitting in memory taking up 35MB each, among other programs I hadn't used in a while.

So what it's doing is say instead of having tapatalk be 80MB or whatever, it's knocking it down to a "Just opened" state at like 35MB. I wish it would just kill other apps entirely like it should.

I can't stand this garbage ruined OS

Here is another one- One X (same as Evo LTE) vs. Nexus; both running ICS. And (of course) the HTC reloading most of the time:

HTC One X / ICS Multitasking Issue - YouTube

Still only shows the annoyances and not the malfuctions and aborts that are present with downloading, streaming, updating apps in Play, etc.

Watching that video has made me feel down about the functionality of the EVO.. Sigh

Kind of odd that he kept going back and forth with the same two apps but I think it illustrates the point.

The guy in the first video posted says he is in contact with HTC so maybe we'll make some headway. It's gone past frustrating at this point.
