Has anyone not installed the latest update?

Installed this morning. approx 5-7 minutes from download to install. no issues. phone working great

Count me out. Too many problems reported with both versions of the update. My phone really isn't giving me any pain so I'm leaving well enough alone for now.

Not going to, unless unrevoked has a new patch that works on everything, and tested for awhile.
Don't want to do full root since all I need is wifi tethering. The more you mess with it, the more change it will break

Well I thought my first post would be to report a bricked phone but, luckily, it didn't happen. The new update worked great and took about 15 minutes.

- Never had the grounded issue so can't confirm
- Of course, I lost the Android wallpapers (except the one I was using) but will download again as soon as I find the link (anyone have it?)
- Wi-fi IS a little better (but not great)
- I confirmed "N" does work
- Screen seems a little snappier
- Widget re-loads required - no bigee
- Battery does seem a little better but too early to confirm
- 4G even seems better - more bars in more places (eat your heart out AT&T)

It may not be perfect but it's a step in the right direction for those of us that don't root (yet).

I had no problems updating my Evo the first time. I lost the overclock app, but that's about it. My battery life has been great and I use Pandora through out the day for quite a bit. I honestly have had no problems with my Evo since I got it. I love this phone and I can't wait for the Froyo release!

I think the main thing is, I don't want to lose my android wallpapers. But I would love to have the benefits for the social networking.

I installed it on monday and was surprised to hear all of the problems. It definitely improved my wifi and battery life. My wife waited and just did it about 10 minutes ago. Went very fast for her and the phone is fine.

I think paranoia is over blown at this point.

i refuse to update to OTA ever. Its sad i trust the XDA devs a bunch of internet strangers more than i trust HTC and Sprint

If that is your main concern, you can download the Android wallpapers in a few different places. Do a search and you'll find links.

I am running a custom ROM, so no. I don't believe that I have the update applied. It should be safe now though.

I have to say though if you aren't using a custom ROM then it would be worth the update in order to get the better battery life!

I'm definitely seeing improvements. My only complaint is the stupid Gtalk is always on and eating memory.

Go for it. The worst that happens is that you need a new phone, but the chances of that are slim.

i wish i didn't update. i don't notice the battery lasting longer and the phone glitches a little now. it was prefect before that damn update. ugh!

I have not installed it yet. I had my wife install it on her EVO, and haven't noticed any great improvement in battery life. I get the nag message every day, and I cancel it, but now there is a little update icon in the notification bar that I would like to get rid of. Any ideas?

I am going to root eventually. I'm just waiting for a ROM where everything works properly. Hoping for a cyanogen rom (fingers crossed).

Yes you can remove update notifications and the ability to check for updates in your settings.
