Was wondering if anyone rooted their device after 4.4. If so, which method and site? Also, will it allow me to update future OTAs?

go to the XDA link posted above and read my friend. Yes, you can have 4.4 rooted, but it requires you going back in time to a previous version, rooting, and then taking the OTA.

I went back to 10o using LG Flash tool and rooted with ioroot 22. Then I was able to update to KitKat and keep root.

Didn't work for me. Ah well. I'll try again sometime or wait for 4.4 root.

I have two ATT G2 phones. Both were running original stock firmware "d", were rooted, and had TWRP custom recovery installed. I downloaded the rooted KitKat firmware, SuperSU, copied them to my Download folder on the phones, booted to TWRP recovery, flashed the firmware, then flashed SuperSU, and then rebooted. I now have rooted KitKat 20c firmware running perfectly on both phones. BUT, do understand that you lose custom recovery. Hope someone finds a way to make a custom KitKat recovery!

I had AT&T push the update to my phone. Didn't really see anything that I needed in the update so I flashed back to 10d, rooted again, installed TWRP and flashed a ROM.
