Has anyone seen their phone switch from lte to 3g even in good signal areas?

I am asking because Verizon said that they would move people from their 4GLTE network to the 3g network in loaded tower situations

This has been happening to me a lot in the Silicon Valley lately, and it is most likely due to the network being strained by high usage. Verizon supposedly flipped the switch on more bandwidth in San Francisco, but I suspect that doesn't help me. I hope Verizon keeps expanding its infrastructure, or else I'm going to jump ship.

+1 for DC metro area. Even occurred a few times while visiting Richmond VA.

Used to have this issue with my razr Maxx and I live in a town of 80,000 peeps. Seemed to be getting gradually worse and I often wondered about the tower congestion. Verizon was no help. I got a new phone a month ago and no more issues, so I'm thinking it to be a phone issue.

That sucks :o.

Verizon should give discounts if they coax people into buying 4G phones and then can't deliver.

Happens here in the Chicago area when I'm at home. I don't think it's congestion, though, as I consistently get 20+ mbps down when I disable wifi and use 4g. I suspect that there's some sort of software bug, as a reboot cures it when it does happen. Not a big deal, though.

Could also be that you are hopping onto band 4, which the one supports. The razr maxx didn't have band 4 support.

Maybe, but seems like it would have always been that way then instead progressively worse over time. I don't know, but very happy with the ONE now.

I have seen my data speeds progressively getting worse on band 13. Only recently it has gotten a little better. Band 4 speeds are really good, in my area.
