If so, why?

This is not a Charge vs Thunderbolt thread. I've seen & heard of a lot of people trading in their TB for the Charge. This is understandable since the Thunderbolt came out before the Charge.

I picked up a Charge yesterday and am impressed with it, however, I am coming from a non-smartphone background so I don't have a reference for comparing it. I was on the TB wagon till I heard about the battery issues. I know small issues can get blown out of proportion via the internet, media, etc. The big thing I like about the TB is the simultaneous voice & data in 3G also.

TB's battery issues arise from the LTE network and how powerful it is, it demands a lot of juice. Luckily my area is 4G yet but will be by the end of year. I'm just gonna wait till then to see if an extended bat is right for me. Do u live in a 4G area? If so Your Charges battery life should be at par with the Thunderbolt from what I here.

I live in the D.C market so yes I'm in 4G. I have 90 days within which I can exchange the Charge for another phone. So was wondering if anyone else had traded the Charge for the TB. If the battery between the two are comparable in 4G areas, then I might switch to the TB.

I'm rooted and get about 20 hours of use as long as I don't play any games except words with friends. Higher graphic games like Paradise Island and Plants vs Zombies drink my battery.

got to mess around with a charge today and I can honestly say that if i had one and went and played with the TB i would trade.

Just the feel of the charge is a bit cheaper and not as quality built as the tb.

My first android was the Charge (came from an iphone)

Honestly, I did not enjoy the Charge and was a bad first impression. Slow UI, no copy and paste in emails horrible color scheme. Decided to give the Thunderbolt a chance and couldn't be happier.

How does the battery life compare for the two phones? I agree with you that the Charge UI is on the laggy side. Its not really an issue for me but if you compare it to other phones, its laggier.

Except it doesn't leak light out from under the screen =) People always praise the weight and "quality" feel of HTC phones but that does not mean it won't fall apart like a cheap taiwanese built product. The finish flaking off the chrome plastic kick stand, screen de laminating, dead pixels, blown speakers. Its just like a German car, or a Range Rover. It sure does feel quality when you sit inside but after 40K miles, the finish starts to peel, creaks and rattles everywhere and interior trim pieces just coming off in your hands.

Charge wins on battery but not enough to make it difference. Neither can go a full day for me on a single charge (and if that the case then one doesn't really have any advantage)

Got the extended battery for the Thunderbolt and I'm fine now.

The real dealbreaker for me on the Charge was no copy and paste in their email client. I need that functionality and was shocked that there are smart phones today without it.

I thought about getting a charge until I actually got to handle one, I didn't like it at all so I got a bolt instead. I came from a dinc 1 and get better battery life on 3g and WiFi

lol.......That was a good one, but my problem comes from the Rover when I get the Payment book.:D

I had a Charge, I didn't like the plasticy feel to it. I felt like it was gonna break every time I laid it down. The screen is amazing and I didn't mind the physical buttons. Just Samsung's TouchWiz is slow and laggy. Sense's UI and Widgets are actually useful and improve the experience. The Kickstand and sound quality is much better on the TBolt! Very happy with my choice!

I played with the charge...loved the screen and really struggled with which to buy...in the end I decided to buy the thunderbolt, root it and it made a huge difference with battery life when you remove the bloat. I'm in DC too, 4g is quite good and it's a drain. I bought the Seido multi-function charger and swap stock batteries if I start to run low..it happens sometimes.

I had heard so many good things about Sense and so many people complained about touchwiz and that updates may be slow on the charge..the developer community for the thunderbolt seems great.

I am super happy I chose the thunderbolt

I had 41% battery when I came home and it was off the charger for 11 hours because I plan on going out tonight and don't want a dead battery at 1am lol. I did a bunch of texting, 4G stayed on all day, checked facebook and some RSS feeds n websites randomly during the day, and EMail, facebook, and Twitter syncing all day with a bunch of HTC Sense widgets like the clock, FriendStream, calender. My boss has his phone die within 6 hours and he has no widgets but had 4G on and email sync. Both of us are on the original stock before the update.

i traded in for a charge and i like it a lot better. The only thing i miss about the tbolt is the sense UI. On the flip side i love the new charger verizon has for the charge. it is a wireless charger.
