Has anyone tried a Square Trade warranty?

With a coupon code I can get a 2 year warranty for $95. I know it has a $99 deductible, but it does cover drops, immersion, etc. I know someone said you can get a rider on your homeowners insurance and I haven't explored that yet.

Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.

I just bought one, like 5 min ago. I have one on my tablet as well. My insurance agent said they won't cover cell phones (state farm). I have never filed a claim with them, but when I was purchasing one for my tablet, I did some searching on the Web and couldn't find any negative comments.

i haven't heard anything really negative about squaretrade. with regards to riders to homeowner's, check to see if a claim for the phone would go on your record. i prefer not to have any claims on my homeowner's insurance record. if that isn't an issue for you, also make sure that filing a phone claim isn't grounds to raise the premium as well.

I have used SquareTrade in the past to cover amps and electronic gear. I got an email about the 30% off sale - but I need to know if the warranty covers you for the price you paid (i.e. if you paid full price versus subsidized price) or replacement cost. I'll send an email and see what they say.
