Has ICS finished rolling out to the Rezound?

My husbands Rezound still hasn't received the ICS update yet. Should he have it or are there others that haven't gotten it either? I called Verizon but they said it could take a month to roll it out completely. I have never had to wait this long on an update before. I am in Greenville South Carolina and the phone is stock. Thanks for your help!!

Another question is ... If they don't get the ICS OTA, will they get the global OTA in September? Guessing not.

Android Police has RUUs that you can install if you get tired of waiting.

What happens when you check for an update with at least 80% battery? Does it give you a response of "No new software update available." or no response at all?

Of course the easy answer would just be to install the RUU of .12 and then you do t have to wait anymore.

Same here. Got a new (not clnr) phone as a replacement a few days ago and finally activated it night before last. Was on GB, but immediately updated to ICS.

You are lucky! I have the extended warranty. Got refurbished but would never know. Awesome. Within a few moments it told me ICS was ready

Well, not really lucky. It is going back. Have yet another rezound being overnighted via Fe ex Monday. This one keeps crashing and dropping 4g...

To the OP
Have you tried removing the battery and the SIM for a few minutes....while still on. Try that and hopefully it will work

ACEJAVELIN- It doesn't do anything and the battery is above 80 percent. When I hit check for new software now -it ""thinks" for a minute and the the box just goes away. So I am getting no response at all. It has done that since the ICS update started rolling out. I started checking when I found out i was available. So what does that mean? Thank you for your response and help.

JUDE526-I have not tried that- I will give that a try and see if it works! Thank you for the suggestion. I will let you know if it works.

Sorry guys-I don't know how to quote what each of you said and then respond under it.

JUDE526- I did try that and it didn't work . Oh well-Thank you again for the help. Maybe it just hasn't rolled out in my area yet. Although, I did see a couple of people getting it in South Carolina when it first started rolling out. If you have anymore suggestions please let me know.

I don't know why you haven't received it. Can contact HTC. You should have had it by now. Sorry

I think I am seeing your problem, I have seen few other people who have this issue as well, there is something "stuck" in the firmware that is not allowing one of the services to run properly for some reason (I am not going to speculate what it could be) but there are only three solutions that I know of:

1) Factory Default - then go through the setup process, then check for updates, it should do something and pop up a window saying "Software Update - Checking for new software available now", then prompt you to either install the ICS "prep" update, or give you a window that says "Finish - No new software update available." If you get the later, I would give VZW a call and find out why. If neither of these work go to option #2

2) Flash the RUU for the current OTA release (3.14.605.12) - It is available on AndroidPolice here. The instructions are on the site, although I would recommend doing the procedure TWICE. It is pretty fool proof if you are bone-stock, unrooted, and locked.

3) RMA the phone to VZW

Those are pretty much your choices unfortunately.

ACEJAVELIN- I will try the factory reset 1st and see if it will help. That is assuming my husband will LET me do that!!! I don't think my husband really cares if he gets it or not. I used to have the Rezound and am anxious to see what ICS is like. I am sure he will love it once I get it on his phone. I did call Verizon back tonight and they said that it still hadn't fully rolled out yet. I really don't think that I believe that. Thank you again for all of your help.

JUDE526-I hadn't thought about callling HTC (duh) I will do that if the factory reset doesn't allow it to install OR my husband looks at me like I have lost my mind when I tell him I have to factory reset his phone. lol Thank you for your suggestions as well.

Hope the fact ory reset helps. Don't download any apps after you do the reset. Just the Google acct so you'll have the email and can reactivate. Then go to settings and software update.
Good luck

Did you ever end up getting the update? My wife's rezound still hasn't been updated, and nothing at all happens when I click the "check for update" button.

Wow!

I would just install the global RUU -- that way you can go from being waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind to slightly ahead of the curve. :)

You should get a confirmation message, if nothing occurs there is a problem in the phone. Actually, this is an issue several people had, there isn't much that can be done, some people noted a factory reset got it to kick start, others had to manually flash the RUU... deep investigation revealed some service is not starting (or starting and stopping right away) correctly in the phone that is part of the firmware but basically something just isn't working correctly that is beyond your control. You might need to get a replacement from VZW if you don't want to flash manually and really want ICS, but try the factory default first.

To your original question, I would think the roll out is complete, or at least 99% complete. You could always call support, but be ready for factory reset.

I haven't received it either. I did flash one of the leaked ICS Roms that were on Android Police as I got tired of waiting. I'm talking about the official ones from HTC.

HOW CAN I GET MY PHONE TO DOWNLOAD/INSTALL THE OTA UPDATE? Trying to update the software does nothing. I assume I have to flash back to gingerbread for it to work.

Please provide instructions for those of us who were early adopters. I have a few glitches in the software that are bothersome. I'm hoping the final OTA will fix these.

If you are on a leaked RUU that is not an official release version, you will not get an OTA update, ever!

Your best option is just to install the 3.14.605.12 RUU from Android Police, it is the official version and you should get further OTA updates moving forward, as long as you don't flash a different leak like the Global Mode RUU.

Unless you are S-OFF, you cannot flash an RUU to take you back to Gingerbread, it won't work... you can only go forward, not backwards.
