Has Samsung lost some of it's "power"?

Hence the words "can be," which implies potential/ability, instead of using "are." At least that's what I meant by using those words.

You're not fooling anyone though with that "can be" phrase. At least not the people who are aware. Anytime HTC vs. Samsung gets brought up, you make a similar comment. OBVIOUSLY Samsung fans can be as bad as Apple's. But that's the case with anything as was mentioned by LPT. But if you CONSTANTLY attack one specific company, you start too look pretty sorry because there has to be a reason for so much hatred. USUALLY the only way you have that much hatred, is if you felt they are screwing over your favorite device. And if you get that passionate about hating them, it makes you look as obsessed with your preferred phone manufacturer as others are with theirs.

You don't want creativity. Every ounce of creativity gets thrown in the dirt and called "gimmicky". Even IF there was an amazing creative invention from Samsung, your HTC pride wouldn't allow you to give it the credit. So don't set the trap and then act like you sincerely want something out of them. Nothing they do will ever escape your trap. And i've said this before, but I actually REALLY want the HTC One and the S4 doesn't interest me. So before you go off accusing me of some blind Samsung love keep that in mind.

At the end of the day just use what you like either way the HTC One and S4 are both good but I just prefer the way HTC does things is all..

Preach these HTC fans and ppl who just wanna see Samsung fall is a terrible... A year ago this site wasn't so against the same platform

That was also before Samsung came out with the Galaxy Nexus and then cannibalized it with the S3 ;). I personally disliked that decision very much, but I completely get it. They had an opportunity and took it.

I can respectfully agree with that. Absolutely 100%. I like both companies for various reasons. I think Samsung is BY FAR the most creative Android manufacturer out there right now. I think they come out with a lot of stuff that does me no good at all, but it's at least creative. Whether I like it or not, their software is very creative. But I also prefer what HTC is doing with Sense and I think it looks better than Touchwiz. I think HTC spends more time and effort on little details similar to the way Apple is, and Samsung doesn't seem to focus as much on those minor details. In the end, HTC's devices look spectacular and very appealing. I just wish we could give credit where it's due even if we don't like a company. I think iOS is so plain and boring that it's an insult to the people who use it. I think Apple is a no good dirty company that would shove their mother off a cliff to make a buck. But I still give them credit for their devices and the thought process behind them. If you read the book about Steve Jobs, you have to respect his desire to make a quality product. However much I dislike the man, his motives had the consumer in mind (as long as they worshipped his closed ecosystem of course).

I think Samsung's software is far more creative than its hardware. To that extent, I agree.

What would have been real interesting too see is that I read that at one point Samsung was going to use a Metal body on the S4 instead of the common plastic but it would have delayed them getting the S4 out. Maybe with the S5 they will do that be interesting to see how the device would look and feel.

Metal body for Samsung Galaxy S4 would have meant delay

Went in to the att store today and played with the one. Gorgeous device and screen. But that button setup is horrendous. I can't stand it. And also I noticed from what others had said in reviews is that the volume and power keys are very flush with the phone. A minor annoyance but something that would bug me. If they seriously went with a three button set up again like the one x, I might consider it.

Right. And not too many months ago, 90% of Android agreed that software creativity was more important than hardware creativity. At least that's how it appeared to be. Or else everyone would have flocked to Apple who CLEARLY had the best hardware. But suddenly HTC releases an aluminum build, and now Hardware means more to all of us than software....I just don't get it.

HTC deserves major credit for front facing speakers, Boomsound, and Blinkfeed. Love it or hate it, they took a risk and went out on a limb with some creative efforts there. In fact, the speakers and the Camera is the main reasons I want the One. I REALLY want to test out that camera and compare Ultra Pixels to megapixels. I want a good sound from my speakers as well.

It's interesting to watch the war on Apple switch to a civil war within Android. Everyone seems to attack fellow Android manufacturers instead of those competing against Android. I used to think Samsung would be freaking stupid to ever leave Android. But if they did it now, I wouldn't blame them one bit because nothing they do will get credit from the people who hate them regardless. Bash Samsung for their build materials, for what some call the ugliness or heaviness of touchwiz, or whatever else. But they are still creative in the way they are attempting to implement smartphones into our daily life.

Considering I was a massive Nexus fanboy, I can say that your first paragraph has absolutely no applicability to me or my personal choices lol. I prefer software I can manipulate the easiest. Usually that's the simplest. I detest TouchWiz. The only thing I hate more is Sprint--the entire network. I find TW to be large, bloated, and completely superfluous. But I cannot deny its creativity. I cannot deny S Voice, the hovering gestures, etc. You can't. They're too cool. But TW itself, for my software preferences? Completely antithetical.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not in love with Sense. It will be replaced. If you've seen my post history, you'd know that lol.

I doubt that. The One is an absolutely legit device. Considering how positive the consensus is, that won't change.

What will change is the shift in marketing.

The one x was a very legit device still some websites best phone last year and it got killed by the s3 it will be the same this year as well I think. Samsung has just to much marketing power

Exactly. The marketing is too strong.

BTW, sick Holden (right?). I owned a 2004 Pontiac GTO - aka the Monaro. Was amazing.

I'm on day 4 and the hard and soft buttons totally suck, as well as the lame LED. Also, the phone seems to vibrate when it feels like, not when notifications are received.

Yeah I think Sprint getting aggressive again about getting their network updated they just added another 21 Markets to LTE and plenty more to come what set them back is they Overpaid to get the I-phone. But either way they will be fine looking forward to what they are doing.

Do u realise that the marketing for the s3 had nothing to do with the s3 pre release?the s2 was so good of a phone that pop praised it and gave it a street buzz similar to how the HTC one is now...everyone had to have the s3 prior to the commercials bashing apple etc, great products sale they self at first Samsung wasn't marketing the s1 or s2 like they market s3 And s4 it took for them to make consistent great phones...
