LG G3 Battery Saver and Lollipop

Am i going mad?

I am sure when i first got my G3 (Christmas), that when i set the battery saver i could also set what was actually turned off by the battery saver feature kicking in. Now i cant find those settings, has the ability to fine tune the saver been modified in lollipop?

Thanks in advance

Allow me to go mad with you. Unless I'm mistaken, I used to have my battery saver to switch on at 30% charge. Now, I only see options of Immediately, 5% and 15%.😕

Re: LG G3 Battery Saver and Lollipop

KitKat had no built-in battery saving feature, so LG implemented their own. Lollipop includes a Google designed battery saver, so it appears LG decided to leave it's own version out. Google's is very basic in comparison.

People always complain about how manufacturers change Android, but this is a perfect example of why I'm not interested is "stock" Android. It lacks a great many useful features that manufacturers have added to their products.

I came from Nexus and wanted to be sure LG was close to stock before buying it. I took the plunge but then realized that I actually liked the things LG added such as the battery saver, slide memo and the quiet function. All of these are gone now in favor of stock lollipop features which for the most part are stripped down in comparison. Too bad.

A good point.

Indeed - but this is also the great advantage of Android: CHOICE. Coming from stock Android (Galaxy Nexus) the choices I found an my GS4 was almost overwhelming, and I quickly understood what people meant about TouchWiz "bloat" - lots of cool features, but few of them usable in day-to-day life for me. However it was preferable to finding apps for this or that feature that stock Android didn't have. Now that I have an LG G3 I prefer their skin over Samsung's - everything has been tamed down (color wise and feature wise). I haven't tried HTC's Sense for a few years, so that would be interesting to try out.

Some people prefer the stock experience and add the "features" they want. Others like everything (and then some!) baked in. I find myself prefering a skinned version, but it seems stock Android has come a LONG way, even since 4.2 (which is the last version I had on my Gnex).

They also have removed the lg on screen phone function which mirrors your phone's display....
