Has Verizon slowed down its marketing on the Xoom until Motorola rolls out the fix to make the tablet "whole"?

I would think so.. but then again, I have never seen it advertised much (if at all) in the past either. Even the wi-fi version is not being advertised as much as it should. Never saw it on TV, just in the store circulars a couple times.

Motorola & Google

Having used my 3G Xoom for a while now, I think the rush to market, by Motorola and Verizon, was a mistake. I really enjoy my Xoom, but the 3G is as irritating as some of the current shortcomings of Honeycomb.

Seems there's always enough time to do it over, but never enough time to do it right!

Let's just hope things improve quickly...

They never really had any marketing for Xoom. Nobody had it. Verizon stores never had any logos, banners, etc in their stores, neither did Best Buy. I mean, BB put their Xoom in computer categories and some even had them hidden in drawers at mobile sections.

My Verizon store had a window banner up at launch when I got it. I seen the same super bowl add a few times and also a newer Verizon one too. It would be nice if it got more adds.

I never saw a commercial on the Xoom...

You never seen the one when the dude gets into his futuristic pod and flies away? Anyhow, that's the only one I ever saw.

But the OPs question is a little funny given the fact that the Xoom wasn't marketed very heavy. If this is marketing being "slowed down", what would you call the past few weeks?

Just had a new one on fox just now from verizon. Talked about flash and 4g upgrade.

That picture needs to be a little bigger! (And your TV still has stickers and protective plastic on it!)

Taken with my XOOM loaded from tapatalk. No clue why it's so big. Tv is brand new for the house I just bought but we don't move yet so I just told my wife im testing the new 55 or it would still be in the box ;).

O and I saw the same commercial later last night on the history channel.

I must have seen the Xoom commercial at least 6 times last nite during Stargate Universe on SyFy.

I also saw a commercial last night, I think it was on after the Bruins game on NESN.

Yeah of all the networks they could advertise these are the ones they choose. No wonder the lackluster sales. I feel bad for Moto though because they probably had an agreement that VZW would do most of the marketing. And could have blamed them after the "Droid does" marketing blitz. Unfortunately, I think this is going the way of the Nexus 1. A good device but poorly marketed.

They actually advertise on FOX and I'm pretty sure some other major networks and even during prime time.

I can 100% recall seeing the Xoom commercial during American Idol. My g/f watches a lot of prime time shows and I'm 80% sure it appeared prime time on another network I just can't recall exactly what it was.

Remember how the Droid started? To me this feels very similar, a bunch of advertisements a lot of people probably don't understand yet but ultimately it'll be embedded in people's brains when they walk in to a store or see it in person some other way. Lets see how it looks in a year.
