Has your battery life been trash since June?

Good point. But I'm traveling in an old motorcycle. No USB charger on those :). Currently I'm in China and here your phone is like a passport with covid restriction going on. Cops can stop you any time and ask to see your qr code. If you don't have juice in your battery anymore, you better find something to charge, which is impossible at checkpoints on a country side.

Having a phone that can really handle a day of use in different situation should be a basic job for phone. Only for peace of mind.

But I get that for mostfolk doing city things or having a car and a charger nearby it's more than enough with current battery capacity.

What I loved with the blackberry was that you could do 2 days on a low usage and a real full day on the road, taking pics and showing maps. Real peace of mind. Never had to worry about it. Been looking for new phones with the same capacity since then, but only offer is like huge bulky phone with outdated specs.
Samsung Galaxy A13 5g.

I can get 2 days quite easily. I don't stream movies or play games all day, just basic stuff. I now have a Samsung S21 FE which is a better phone but less battery life. For times when I need more (hiking, trips) I'm keeping the A13.

Have you considered carrying a battery pack? Given how much you use it during the day, that would probably be a wise investment.

Yes I need to. I often do.
But I can't help to think a phone should be able to last a full day. On heavy usage. But I guess it's just me.

All phones use the same battery technology and the same screen technology. If you are a light user, you can get two days. Medium use an easy day. Heavy use you stretch it to get a day out of any of them. If you're a heavy user, put a battery pack in your other pocket. That's the way it is.

So much depends on network reception. On days I work from home and thus stay on wifi, my P6 can go two days easily. When I go to the office (or really anywhere away from wifi), I need to charge by 6pm. It spends a lot of battery trying to get/keep signal. It is better if I turn off 5G.

Yeah definitely, some areas by me I get great 5G and other areas shows 5g but nothing lol it supposed to default to 4g I'm assuming but doesn't so I leave 5g off now until it becomes more mainstream

It certainly has a lot to do with signal but when a cheap Samsung galaxy a13 5g can pull it off....it says a lot.
