I have had my galaxy nexus since March, and I absolutely love it! Do y'all think it is worth it to drop $350 on this phone with a badass phone in the Galaxy Nexus? My phone is by no means perfect but I feel like it will be similar from going from iP****4 to an iP****5, that sort of jump. So as of now I have no intention in upgrading, mainly because I feel like spending another $350 for a phone that is eerily similar to what I have is what apple fans do... idk just my opinion. at least is isn't overpriced!

So why, if you had (probably do have) a Galaxy Nexus, would you switch?

BTW everyone should have (at least) ONE neXus....

I have a Nexus S so i definetly have a reason to switch.

I think in terms of look and performance its like switching from iphone 3GS to Iphone 5.

S4 quad is high end processor. other than that if you can sell it for a good price and add in a few bucks to buy this bad boy do it.

or if you are happy. stick with Gnexus

Ya know, I would have gotten a GNex, but I really enjoy smartphone photography and have heard that the camera leaves much to be desired. That said, if that didn't matter to me, I'd probably rock the Nex at least until a 32GB drops and the 16 goes up $300.

It's pretty cool that we'll get to see stuff like Beam working between two generations of Nexi now.

I have a Galaxy Nexus and I will switch for 3 main reasons:

-I am on Tmobile, and 42 speeds are as good as it gets. (LTE would just kill the battery and in real life the speeds are the same)
-Finally a decent camera (so it seems). Gnex camera is not bad but nothing special either.
-Killer specs. Processor, Ram, Screen will make sure this phone will last a long time.

All the rest (glass, form factor, wireless charging, slightly larger screen, etcetc is icing on the cake but not the reason to switch...)

Will it be just as fast on AT&T?

If you dislike the phone you have upgrade, you won't be a judged as an Apple user. My oldest brother/sisters fiance has apples and want to move, my middle brother is the Nazi saying their great. We say... A uneducated customer in apples best customer. In saying this i believe you are educated. So if you believe its time for a change go ahead and do it, its a small price compared to what other users of other companies do. Personally I would use my phone to the ground till it dies, but if it isn't meeting your current needs upgrade bud.

Seems to be 50/50, lots of GNex users are planning to upgrade, but just as many report that the jump in specs isn't THAT huge and can happily live with their current phone for another year.

Unless you're a tech junkie who needs the latest and greatest purely on principle, I'd say if you love the phone you have, keep it. Why go through the hassle and investment of switching all for a device you may not like as well?

I'm in a similar situation, but I just can't really justify getting the N4. The N4 does nothing I need that my Galaxy Nexus doesn't.

That is, unless my parents will buy the Gnex from me and then I could get the N4 ;D

I think the Nexus 4 is ............... This much better.

Admittedly I do not need to upgrade as I think my Galaxy Nexus is a more than capable phone, but I'm a self confessed Geek and gadgets junkie and at the prices for these Nexus devices (and coming into an insurance payout recently) I can and will be upgrading both my current devices, GNex and Nexus 7 (getting the 3G)

Hi my name is... and I am a Nexus addict :p

For me it's an easy yes. Though people like to say that in regular use they're the same speed, I don't totally agree. Maybe with basic tasks but I'll bet the loading times and speed while multitasking will be a bit faster. Specs wise, it's no contest, Nexus 4 has updated/faster processor, double the RAM, better camera, better build quality (yeah, I said it), .5" bigger screen (I know it's not much, but every bit counts), ZeroGap (thinner and more sensitive) screen with full 1280x720 (48 pixels are used for on-screen buttons so GNEX only has 1280x672 when on-screen buttons are factored in) and no Pentile crap, custom designed battery good for 800 cycles, wireless charging, A-GPS with Glonass (GNEX doesn't have Glonass), etc.

So if you don't need LTE then I think it's a worthy upgrade (especially if you're on T-Mobile since it supports their 42Mbps vs. 21Mbps on GNEX). Also, you only get one new Nexus phone a year released by Google. Sell the GNEX and get the Nexus 4. You know you want to. :)

Will it be just as fast on AT&T?

No it wont as AT&T runs max at 21 speeds.
Still should be fast as the processor on this phone is very fast.
Having said that, real life speeds really depend on where you are - and your coverage.... you might have access to 42 or 21 but in reality it all depends on your coverage.

I would compare it, having used one more than anyone here, to jumping from an evo4g to a HTC OneX. Just more polished, refined, faster, sleeker, better, faster, stronger, more milliondollar manish.

I have AT&T and my Gnex tops out around 6 down. I think that is b/c I am on a 3G data plan. My dad's Skyrocket gets around 55 down where I live, so it kinda is a big difference (although I do use wifi a lot...). I guess I could get Optimus G and put Nova launcher on it.

I have the LTE Galaxy Nexus and I'll be upgrading (and dropping Verizon in the process) for several reasons.

- Higher quality screen
- The performance will be far better
- Camera will finally be decent
- Speakers are higher quality
- Better look and feel (due to materials/construction)
- Improved touch responsiveness

It's also cheaper for me to break my contract and get this phone than to stay with verizon for the full duration, and I'll finally have a real nexus experience instead of delayed updates. I think it is a fairly significant upgrade. I may have hesitated if the device was the normal $600+ but at $350 off contract it's not even a question...

It's a lot better, but if you have a GSM Galaxy Nexus, there's no reason to upgrade except the need for more speed, somewhat better battery life, and that better camera.

If you don't need more speed, are happy with the battery life, and rarely take pictures, I think people would be better off just staying with the Gnex and waiting for the Android 5.0 Nexus coming next year. That's going to be a HUGE upgrade...hopefully without the glass back.
