My 1 year upgrade comes in about 4 weeks.

Right now I would probably lean towards Droid X over the Incredible, Droid 2 or Droid Pro.

Anyone have any insight?

I have the DX and D2. Both are good phones. The biggest thing is what you like when you try the devices in the store (which I would recomend). You have to decide if you need a physical keyboard or not. Also if you are wanting a larger screen. I watch a lot of video on my DX so that was a big factor with me. I also find it easier to type (swype) on the X over the 2. Good luck! Any further questions just ask.

If you can wait until the new dual core Motorola comes coming either in January or February, that will be a great phone.

If you can't then go to the store and test them out.

if youre dead set on using that upgrade right away, i would get the X. if you can hold off though, i would probably wait till spring/summer when we (hopefully) start seeing the LTE phones hitting the market

If you want the x or 2 go ahead but it may be better to wait. If I were spending ny money I would get the x

I had the DX , my father has the OG Droid, and i now have the Fascinate which i love way more than both the Droids.

That being said, All the phones in the Droid line are good solid phones so you really can't go wrong with any so really it comes down to do you need/want a keyboard, if you do than droid 2 or pro;what kind of keyboard slide down or front facing. if you dont need a keyboard you have the incredible and x. if you want a bigger screen go with X. if you want a smoother UI go incredible. but like i said cant go wrong with any of them.

Or wait and see what is coming up. January 3rd will be CES in las vegas after that you will hear about a lot of new phones and maybe will let you decide to wait or go head and get a phone.

I do not think you can go wrong with the X. Personally, I prefer it over all of the rest. However, I have not had time to play around with the DP.

The X gives you nice versatility from size to performance without any major drawbacks. Not that the rest aren't versatile but they do not offer the size with the exception of the Samsung BUT a MAJOR drawback for me was the lack of LED notification. Another strong point for the X is its build quality. You never get the feeling it was made cheaply. Same goes for the D2.

The X really is a great device that packs some unique options and if you do another 1 year upgrade, it will be enough device until 2012 which, is when I think the true LTE evolution era will begin. LTE hand held devices are not something I would recommend this early (although they will be cool!) because you will pay more monthly, have limited LTE coverage for the $$$, lack of software development (will catch up eventually).

So, go ahead make the plunge on the device you are comfortable with and 2012 will be here before you know it!

Thanks for all the input. I will be following CES closely for announcements. I don't like waiting because there is always something coming next and it pushes the next upgrade back.

Might wait if the Incredible HD is late January.

Not without knowing your particular needs/wants. Personally, I'm waiting for dual cores and LTE.

I with you there. My upgrade just came up and my home town(Philly) went live on LTE. So why shouldn't I hold on to my OG Droid(Rooted running Chevy's 1ghz ULV) that performs BETTER than it did when I got it.

I'm running the early release of 2.2.1 deodexed with the Chevy 1.2G ULV kernel and that has been very stable.

I am leaning towards a Droid X at this time unless CES shows something promising released by the end of January.

I'm personally waiting to see what happens with the Incredible HD but if I was going to get one asap it would have to be the Facinate! Its screen is amazing! But with the prospect of 1080p and duel core processors and such I am waiting :D

I'd say the best bet to go with would be the Droid 2 Global. It's got the fastest processor out right now among any cell phone. I think overall it packs the most punch and options for an android phone.

Right now I have the Droid incredible and it is a really fast phone and I have a upgrade in the early Feb which I am hoping the incredible hd will be out. That's the phone I would recommend getting because the specs of the phone make it sound amazing
