Have a lot of space but Play store is showing insufficient storage available

I have cleaned the cache of play store also but it is still not working.....
NEED HELP!!!

Welcome to Android Central! What phone do you have, and what does the Settings>Storage menu look like? Are you certain you have plenty of storage available where apps are typically stored? I ask this because older phones often have a smaller partition where apps are stored, and a larger partition called an "Internal SD," which acts like an SD card, and where you can't install apps directly.

My friend with a Samsung galaxy tab 2.7 had same prob I think it is virus that eats storage may be prob

This kind of issue usually isn't due to a virus. First, we need to know what device the OP has. Many older devices and budget device have very little storage space for app installations.

Most of the time you need about twice the space that the app takes up because you have to download the file as a whole then it proceeds to extract all of the contents and Giles and places them where they need to go. How big is the app and how much space do you have left?

I am having the same problem. Am showing 487 MB availsble not counting storage and can't install a 2 MB app
