have apex and got message for ota update

I wanted to switch to the stock gingerbread for my droid x but the hassle of doing everything to switch back to stock was keepigg me away. I recently got a notification for updating my phone. If I accept will it update my phone to gingerbread, or will it get messed up due to the bootloader?

dont take the update. if you want it, youll have to first go back to 2.3.340. then you can take the ota without a problem

Or just SBF with the new gingebread sbf file

I see someone posted the gingbread sbf file on XDA.
