Android Central Question

Wondering if anyone else has this problem of a male voice speaking Portuguese at any time of day. Apparently the comment in Portuguese is" if this is an emergency, tap 1". Often activated by my picking up phone. Very scary at first and now annoying. Any help appreciated.

Thank you very much for your replies. Should I try and disable SOS function first? Or try safe mode first? Today I managed to record it by leaving an iPad next to it (recording) and when I returned it had actually recorded the voice message:

If you can disable SOS, see if that makes it go away (but from what you describe, it doesn't sound like Huawei's own SOS feature.

BTW, your link gives us a 404 error. Can you reshare it?

It appears SOS was already disabled so I guess that isn't the reason :/ Next up is safe mode. I will try that tomorrow. I hope the link is working now, I updated it :) And thanks again for your assistance!

EDIT: It appears I found the solution. Enabling the SOS function! As soon as I did that and added an SOS contact the voice disappeared and I haven't heard it ever since.

I still don't know about the contents of the message itself but apparently it was related to the SOS function.

Thanks for your assistance! It did point me in the right direction. Maybe this solution will solve the same issue for the original author of this thread.

EDIT #2 : Can you believe it? It is back! Which means it didn't help :( I'm gonna experiment with safe mode but I'm having a hard time booting in safe mode. Even though I follow online instructions on how to do it.
