Have the Tab S 10.5, ask me anything!

Hi,

Yes the files are there but they won't play (a massage appears "cannot play file")

The files are saved on the sd card (Samsung EVO Grade 1 Class 10 - it's a top notch sd card).

The format of the film clips is .m4 (default by the tablet, I did not change that) and for the pics is .jpg

I tried moving them to tablet internal memory, to my pc and to my laptop - everywhere it is the same - it cannot be played.

:///

I have to admit that I don't use the Tab S camera very much. But I just took a video. It was saved as xxxxxx.MP4. I was able to play it using the native Video Player. Then I copied it to my computer and was able to play it, too. It was saved to my sd-card. I just took 3 pictures. Again I was able to view them on the tab s. And I just copied them to my computer and they showed. As a matter of fact, I forgot I had taken 4 pictures while in France in June using the Tab S. They also just showed on the Tab and on my computer.

Maybe try saving to Internal Memory and see if that works?

How did you originally format the sd-card? Or did you just put it in and use it? What size card?

Oh, I know that they don't like Duplicate Threads on the forum but maybe you should post your question in a Thread of its own where the Subject catches more views.

The card is 128 GB - and the issue remains regardless where the files are saved - I repeat - it is random, sometimes it happens sometimes not.

I can't remember how I formated the card in the first place - I believe I just put it in.

Could You suggest some thread where I could find the answer?

Have you googled for an a possible answer?

You might try copying everything that is useful to a computer and try re-formatting the card in the TAB. Also, there was just a question in the 8.4 Tab S forum about 128gig cards where someone was having issues. So you could try a smaller 64gig card but that could be a pricey experiment.

I think consolidating your posts here which together provide a lot of background info into a new post with its own SUBJECT might get more attention.

Otherwise I'm not sure what I can add. As I've noted, I don't use the Tab's camera/video features much since it is a bit unwieldy due to its size and weight.

Good luck

In ma initial replay i told you that i "died surfing the net (e.g. googling) for any info but without result".

Thank you for your help so far.

Kind regards

According to the users guide for the 10.5, the max microSD card is 64GB. Don't know if that could be causing your problem.

This is interesting because according to my manual:

"Your device accepts memory cards with maximum capacities of 128 GB. Depending on the memory card manufacturer and type, some memory cards may not be compatible with your device."

I've been using Samsung Evo 128 GB card in my Tab S for months with no issues whatsoever but had lots of problems with Sandisk cards in various devices where they start unmounting and remounting themselves for no apparent reason and eventually fail.

Hi

I would just like to add that i found out that my SD card is a fake!!! It cam in an original package and everything (I payed for it alot) - I ran the test with SD Insight app and it came "negative" - LOL I guess that is the answer to my question...

Now I have to buy a new card.

Just one question - when I get the new one should i format it (and in which file system) before inserting it in the tablet....or not??

Sorry to read that. It is so hard to trust sellers/shops these days. Can you obtain a refund?

Good luck with the replacement purchase.

How much battery percentage is consumed for every 1 hour of web browsing using WiFi?

I have never really monitored that closely. I know that I have used it on vacations for quite a while and not had any real issues. But I can't really say if it would have lasted five hours or eight or what. I've tended to charge it when I could so did not wait till it ran out.

I have a Samsung Tab s10.5 Android ver 5.0.2 Model SM -T800A.

I cant access the the menu that allows me to wipe the cache partition . I have tried every combination of buttons pushes and no joy.

Home, power and vol down.......? get me into the os download screen.

Home, power and vol up............ leaves me with a blank screen. I then have to wait 30 secs or so and power up the device to make it boot up.

Anyone have any ideas, its driving me crazy. I havenclean this device before, so i know it works!

Moderated in what way? This being a community forum, it's primarily up to community members to respond. The Ambassadors can contribute, but it isn't feasible for us to monitor all threads at all times. Moderators are always available if members have concerns about a post or another member--just click on the little triangle with the exclamation point at the upper right of the post (on the main forum website, not the app), and you can report it to a Moderator.

If you have a specific question you'd like answered, it's probably better to create a new thread, rather than add it to a very long thread.

That depends on so many variables... Strength and type of wifi, browser, astrological sign, type of browsing, brightness, environment if auto brightness is on, peripherals, and probably more that I can't think of.

Have you tried a different charger? If you plug it into a usb port on your computer can you see the Tab's "DRIVES"?

If completely flat, it might take a while to start charging. Give it more time or overnight.

Good luck
