Have you now sworn off pre-orders?

I have followed many threads during pre-orders, and I think this one has been the most positive I've ever seen. There are obviously going to be angry people (it is a forum after all), but typically I see a ton more anger from people, whereas this year the majority of people posting seem thrilled with their pre-order. If I was on the fence with pre-ordering before (I wasn't) I definitely wouldn't be after this experience. I think even people who were anti pre-order, have to notice how positive it was this time even including the freebie redemption process.

Ahhh I see. I have no other experiences to compare to. This is the only forum I frequent because I've always owned a Note. So if this is relatively good, I won't dare venture into other forums! 😊
 
I usually don't pre-order honestly. I've always taken the risk of walking into the store and getting the device in launch day. I did pre order the S8+ and had some issues with it. And I considered preordering the note 8 but didn't. I walked into best buy at 1005, asked them if they had any for walk ins and I was lucky enough. I usually go with black but all they had was the orchard grey. I was able able to walk out with the phone in have by 1055a. I didn't think I would like the color but it's actually growing on me a lot.
 
I must admit that things went pretty smoothly with Best Buy this go-around. I pre-ordered ordered back on the 9th and my Note 8 arrived early this morning on the official release date. The fact that I got the phone with BB's discount completes a pretty good deal overall.
 
I NEVER would pre-order normally but the 425 back on s5 sucked me in along with freebies. Twice B of A flagged transaction as fraud and prevented sale going through despite my calls. Once unflagged Samsung Direct themselves flagged me as a deadbeat.
 
I guess I got lucky. I pre-ordered my phone late from T-Mobile on 9/7 and got my note 8 the next day.
 
I made so much bad experience with pre-ordering, most of the time it came like 10 days later or something due to 'wheater issues' or sh.. like that.... never going to pre-order again
 
I would pre-order again, I didn't for the Note 8, too many phones will be dropping in the next month or so for me to buy the Note just yet. I pre-ordered the S8 Plus from Best Buy in store pickup and that was a mistake, but I saved a bunch on money. So next time if I do pre-order from Best Buy I will absolutely order it shipped. Usually they are the best way to save money but you might not get it early. I am on Verizon and until the Note 8 they have hardly ever let preorders go out early. T-mobile is usually the king of early, but I don't think they shipped the earliest this year.

I will probably end up with the Note 8, but at this point I am going to wait for a sale. I could buy out a few months on my S8 Plus and upgrade now but I am pretty happy with this phone.
 
I am not sure yet I did the pre-order thru Best Buy for pick up on 9/15. I wanted the extra $150 off and I am patient enough to wait until 9/15.

So did not have anything to make my pre-order experience sour. Everything went smooth with Best Buy, I was in and out with my Note 8 within 45 min.
 
My T-Mobile pre-order of two Note8s (for the price of one) went smoothly and saved me more than a thousand dollars (free Note8 plus full trade-in reimbursement of the remaining balance on my old S8+). The phones arrived five days after I placed the order.
 
Official release day is Friday 9-15-2017. Yet a good bit of you still have no device even though you pre-ordered early on. I've never pre-ordered. Looking forward to Friday.

Some of you have your devices but there was stress and mayhem. Your phones saw pretty much all of the U.S. You didn't receive current tracking.

Considering this experience, will you ever pre order again, whether direct, through a carrier, or BB?

While some folks had real issues, most of the complaints I saw were just folks being impatient. Thankfully I didn't have issues with the preorder. I'd probably do it again. I did it through Samsung to get the Note 7 discount but I'd probably preorder through Best Buy next time. Samsung's customer service is not very good at all. Thankfully I didn't have to deal with them.
 
I had a great experience w/Best Buy ordered Sept 8th and recieved it Wed. Sept 13th, preordered online.
 
I have. My bank twice flagged Samsung Direct payment as fraud and shut off my cc twice then Sammy refused to recharge after I called the bank
 
I pre-ordered 1st day through Samsung. Still no phone or even any email saying it has shipped. 10 days ago received email that it would mail out the next week. Never got the price difference between the S7 Edge and my Note 7 either. Yup. I am ILL!
