Have you received the new play store update?

I've always noticed that Google Play updates itself without notification. It annoys me as I don't want ANYTHING to update without my approval. As far as I know, there is no way to change that behavior, it appears baked into the system. :( Btw, no update here yet on either the Nexus 7 or Thunderbolt, both still on 3.8.17. Looking forward to the new feature to remove some old app listings (satisfies my OCD :-[), even though there are only about half dozen. So I can wait for the update. :)

My Nexus 7 got the update about 10 minutes ago, and nothing yet for my Galaxy Nexus, which is weird since my GNex is older...I wish here was some method to these rollouts

I just cleared the play store apps cache and about 5 minutes later it updated in the background. I still haven't noticed any difference. Wishlist??

Just checked and I have got the update, no idea when it happened, I'll have to start filling up my wish list now:)

I got the new update but I'm not too sure what's new and I'm rooted so I can't enjoy the movie aspect

INSPIRE AOKP ICE COLD SANDWICH ROM ;)

Got the update yesterday. They finally fixed the problem of when you are going through my apps and click on one and go back it stays where you were instead of resetting at the top! You can also remove previously installed apps from your app history. And if you long press on an app you can select as many apps as you want and remove them from your history.

Yep, finally got mine yesterday around the afternoon. It took a really long time to show up, which is both odd and lame! Google needs to speed this update process, like allow us to go to settings and force the update to begin. :p

Now it's time to spend an hour deleting apps I don't want on my list. GAH!

If you long press on an app you can then select as many as you want then hit the delete icon in the top right corner.

Got the v3.9.16 yesterday at some point on my Verizon GS3 and I can delete garbage apps, but no wishlist feature. Also, I woke up this morning to find that an app I had installed last night "dolphin browser" had installed again and I had two icons on my home screen. This has never happened before the update.

Google has to enable wishlist on each account. it will automatically appear. give it a few days.

Tried that when I updated a few days ago, didn't seem to do that for me, perhaps it has been tweaked. It was so aggravating to delete something and then getting bounced back to the top of the list..

Thanks, I thought I read that somewhere else. I hate the way they do these updates with no notice. Any thoughts on the app reinstalling on my device? Never had anything like that happen before.

I think they are doing auto update for a reason especially when there are 500 million devices and not a lot of people will update their playstore.

Google want to make sure all are on the latest store.

about auto update. have you enabled automatic update of apps? thats the only thing i could think off.

It does seem like it's just a big roulette wheel.

Yep, I've done auto update. App store seems to be updated. I just can't figure out why that app reinstalled. I'm not going to worry about it though.

Thank you for that time-saving tip! Even though I know that long-press functionality is often not obvious, I probably would have wasted an hour today cleaning out my all-apps list...

I wish that A) there was some easy/intuitive way that Google could bake some method of revealing these extra features into the UI and B) that they would do it...

I bet there are all sorts of features that the average user never finds or benefits from...

Would be nice if we could just manage it from the PC also. Check box function and then delete.. even more easier IMO.

Just a TIP on how to force the update. go to Settings-->Apps-->All Apps-->Google Play store-->Uninstall updates, then clear cache and data.

open play store. with in a minute(time to download and update itself) it will update to 3.9.16. just make sure you are connected to wifi.

Just arrived on my Gnex today, I could tell by the different looking notification icon. Haven't even bothered to check the N7 yet. I'm sure everyone will have it soon enough. Patience all.. It's no major update anyways :)
