Can't find anything on this problem.

But sometimes when I charge my S4. I get a message. ..
"For faster charging, use the charger that came with your phone".
Which I am using. But it takes 3 to 4 times longer to charge.
I've noticed that this was kind of a gradual thing. Which leads me to believe it has something to do with the battery. And it's been happening more frequently.

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It could be the battery or the charger/plug. Charging cables or the wall plug can fail over time as well. The first thing I'd try is a different cable/plug combination. If you can borrow one from a friend who also has an S4, that would be ideal. But most charging cables are interchangeable, so you could also try any other charger you have lying around the house.

If multiple chargers give you the same message, then try a new battery.

I'm having the same issue lately with the one that came with my phone -- but my phone charges fine/quickly with other charging cables. Guessing the original charger is just going bad.

I just went through a similar thing. My wife has the same phone so I swapped chargers with her and the problem went away. I figured I had a charger that was failing. Then I downloaded an app that tells you the charging current. I checked my charger and it was 560ma and my wife's was 1200ma.

Then I swapped the cables on the charger and now my charger was 1200ma and my wife's 560ma. So I grabbed another cable and got a reading of 1200ma for both chargers.

So, try another cable before you get another charger.
